Internet
It was 1999 when I first got my own computer and was introduced to the Internet. Wow! Loved chatting with people from all over the world. It also brought me love for some people. Some of the love was the ones that make you wonder “Is this Love” or “Are they telling me the truth.” I know I was feeling the love, but were they? Not being face to face, it was hard to say. All I know is the love I gave out was true. This is a short set of poems, yet many of my love poems (See chapter LOVE) started out with people I met on the Internet, and there were some that did work out much better.

A Message From You
© by Bud Lemire on Aug 3, 2004
Do you know what makes me happy
Do you know what makes me glad
It's when I receive a message from you
Then I know life's not too bad
Do you know what touches me deeply
Do you know what makes me smile
It's when I receive a message from you
It makes me feel like I'm a child
Do you know there's so much junk out there
But there's a friendship we can share
When I receive a message from you
Then I know that you truly care
It's the time you take, to type those words onto the screen
Warms my heart, like the sun warms all things that are seen
How can I tell you, so that you will know
When I receive a message from you, it touches my soul
Copy & Paste
© by Bud Lemire on Jan 8, 2018
Why should I copy and paste
To me, it's such a waste
It might be the latest trend
But it's not time I would spend
Use original words, and speak from the heart
Don't dribble off others, it smells like a fart
Nobody should have to copy and paste, it's a matter of will
These repetitious words, are like a bad tasting pill
I believe in the words, not the way that its done
These childish acts, are not for everyone
Drop the copy and paste part, write something new
Use your mind and heart, and that will do
Why does everyone feel, that if it says copy and paste
Then on their page, the same words must be placed
If someone jumped off a cliff, would you do that too
People will respect you, for being a original you
So do it right, by using your head
Don't act too quickly, go where you're lead
Exclude the words “Copy & Paste”
Then your words will be better embraced
This is for all the people who have words on their
page, which end in a Copy & Paste this to your
wall. It's a Pet Peeve of mine. I prefer originality.
I prefer leaving the Copy & Paste to your Wall off.
If people like something enough, they will do that.
Next week, we'll talk about why “I need a hug, I
wonder if anyone reading this will give me a hug”
bothers me so much too.
Cyber Lovers Beware
© 2000 By Bud Lemire
When searching for love and friendship, on the internet
Remember the words in this poem, and never forget
There are many good and many bad, but they aren’t always what they seem
Don’t hold them too tight, because you can always change your dream
Just let it all happen, and if it’s meant to be, it’ll be
Don’t let their lives, control your own destiny
Not knowing or seeing them face to face
Causes the mingling of truths and lies in cyberspace
You give all your heart and soul, because you want to believe
Not knowing for sure, the truth of words you receive
Caution and time is needed, if all is it to go well
To prevent your heart from breaking, and going through hell
If you ever decide to meet this person, take caution indeed
Don’t meet in private, having witnesses is what you need
Remember that if all doesn’t go, as you want it to
Maybe there’s a reason, someone in the future is waiting for you
I believe words can be deceiving, and all is not clear
When the person you love, is not humanly near
I’m not saying all are liars, there are many a good friend
Just use caution with what you receive, and with what you send
Many people out there, really do care
This is my message, Cyber Lovers Beware
E Mail
© by Bud Lemire on March 13, 2003
I get up every morning, and check the internet
And look at my inbox, to see what I will get
There are a couple letters, of news from far away
And there sure is a lot of junk mail, I'll delete today
I'll respond to those who wrote me, as prompt as I can be
So they will have an update, on how life is with me
This mail travels so fast, from one place to another
Arriving in just seconds, to friends, sisters, and brothers
One letter came back, saying the recipient was unknown
I guess I'll have to correct it, by calling them on the phone
Someone's mailbox is too full, it won't let my letter through
All that junk mail piles up, but you know what to do
You have to keep it clean, just like you do your house
And it's so much easier, with the clicking of your mouse
Click click click, keep it up until they all disappear
Now you have rid yourself, of junk mail from last year
Now it is my bedtime, but just before I do
I'll check it once more, to see what came through
Oh it's just more junk mail, I guess it's time for bed
So I'll just log off, and saw some logs instead

Connecting with the old and new
Facebook is the place for you
All your interests on display
Responses made on every day
Groups and friends are all found there
There's so much more that you can share
Pictures, music, and videos too
They're all there especially for you
Your own profile is your special place
While the News Feed is the latest news space
Some people like to play a game
But for me that's not my aim
I love interacting with my friends there
And reading all the comments so I'm aware
I'll send a heart to someone I know
Of some Mystic Art that captures the soul
I'll share my photos so my friends can see
Exactly what I'm doing with my photography
Oh it's great to share and it's fun to look
And visit my friends who are on Facebook
I've been enjoying Facebook, all my friends that
are near and far. It's a great way to keep in touch
with friends and family. It's a great way for long
lost friends and family to find you. I love the latest
news on music, authors, and all other things I enjoy.
Facebook Drama
© by Bud Lemire on Oct 25, 2017
There's Drama on Facebook, that's nothing new
Politics and Religion, and their Point of view
Sally Sue has a new boyfriend, and Kerry and Jim have broken up
Liz bought a new Tea Pot, and she posted a picture of the cup
Did you hear what happened to Jane?
Her boyfriend had a fit and went insane
Millie posted a picture of her wedding in the park
Power went out in Seattle, many are in the dark
Moe and Mary had an argument, and aren't speaking to each other
Sue was reunited in Los Angeles, with her long lost brother
Did you see the post Joan put on her page?
Why it's just too wild, for a woman her age
People are sharing thoughts, nothing is private any more
It shows up on my news feed, and it's too hard to ignore
There's more Drama on Facebook, I wonder if it's true
Tongues are flopping constantly, and it's not from a shoe
On Facebook, people are always sharing what is happening in
their lives. Some of it may be more personal than we wish to know.
And yet, they feel the need to share it with their friends.
Opinions, truths, everyday life.
My Own AI
© by Bud Lemire on June 16, 2024
I was raised, to be my own AI
I'll be that way, until the day I die
Don't need an AI, telling me what to do
I know enough, to always help get through
The AI is taking over, everything we see
They say, it's the latest technology
I'm not sure I'll like it, I'm not sure I will
When an AI tells me, I need to take a pill
They say in the future, the AI will have a mind of their own
Why they'll most likely, be listening in on the phone
They'll take over everything, humans will be obsolete
Soon you won't know if they're humans or AI, when you meet
Soon AI will know everything, and so much more
They'll even question, what do we have humans for
An AI as a robot, who resembles a human to a tee
You won't know what you're dating, in what you see
Then again I wonder, some humans aren't so good
They don't exactly do the things that they should
I guess we'll just have to, give it all a try
Yet, who decides, if the world is ready for AI
AI is taking over everything. They are really great at
all they do. But the thing is, will the AI be taking over
everything? What will become of us?
Only time will tell.
On The Internet
© by Bud Lemire on Dec 28, 2003
There's so much on the internet, for us all to see
Countless subjects worldwide, going from A to Z
But what attracts my interest, are the people who are there
Good people sharing life's stories, and showing that they care
Also on the internet, are other people too
They will test your spirit, to see if they can get through
Some will come as liars, and they will cheat
Others come to love you, and help your heart to beat
Some will come from far away, some will come from near
To be added to your life's story, and to shed a tear
Others will come along, with a lesson you must learn
Some will pass away, because it was their turn
Some try to get together, but complications arise
Things not meant to be, and the wonder whys
There are several choices, on the path we go
Sometimes we misunderstand, but the spirits know
We are changing lives, touching others who are in need
Learning from each experience, and where it will surely lead
Sometimes we make our own reality, enclosed within a wall
Forgetting Heaven watches, and catches us when we fall
We must closely listen, quietly we must see
When time is in harmony, with all that it will be

If you have an interest
Check out photos on Pinterest
Pin them to your page
It's for people of every age
Pin what you like there
The photos are to share
Have some fun and pin
I'm sure you'll wear a grin
I've created my own pages on Pinterest
Of all things that hold my interest
For me, it's beauty that I have seen
Sunset, sunrise, birds, and trees so green
Your interest may be different than mine
Share them and they'll look just fine
Followers will follow your post
And you'll be a Pinterest host
I have seen so many people pin
Yet there's lots missing, so I begin
I post my photos which is my interest
So others can share them on Pinterest
What a great way to share what you enjoy
Signs To Deceive
© by Bud Lemire on May 17, 2004
Behind computer eyes
Hidden within the lies
Everyone can be
Someone we can't see
Not so different than us
When honesty goes beyond trust
And anyone can weave
Mysterious signs to deceive
No matter where you are
Lies can be something else by far
When people pretend to be something that they're not
You realize then, that you are all that you've got
When the love you give
Is not how you live
Then there's a sign there
Someone's not willing to share
These signs we receive
People untrue will deceive
For themselves, happiness never found
Searching a lifetime, nowhere bound
Yes, another poem about lies on the
internet. People just not being their
true selves. Be careful out there.
