Friends

Friends

What would we do without friends. Those special people who touch our lives and change it forever. I know I am happy to have met some really wonderful friends throughout my life so far.

Many have come a long way in life and had their own experiences, and it is always nice when they can share them with you. Where you can learn from them, and grow from them.

Some have struggled to make each day worth the effort of waking up to. Some have worked hard all their life to be where there are now. But many of my friends have grown to be even better friends, from what they have learned and grew from. Their journey made them better people, taught them so very much.

Life just wouldn't be the same without them in my life. I honor my friends in this chapter, because they have been there for me when I needed them most. Some of my friends have passed, but they come around to let me know they are still guiding and watching over me and know what is happening in my life. They cheer me on just as they did before.

Wonderful souls passing at the crossroads of our lives, and leaving us with something very special.

These are friends I have met and come to know as truly wonderful souls. Right here in Escanaba. Some I have known since childhood, and some I have come to know as an adult. Each and every one of them very special in my life.

As I read over the poems of my friends, I realize there are many I haven't written about. I write poems when the words come to me, and when the thought is there. Maybe they shall be in the next book I put together. My memories always bring out a poem in me. I am always going back in time to remember someone who touched me with their presence.

Growing up my friends were The Martins (Steve, Mike, & Peepers), Bryan Fletcher (he's passed away now). I had many friends I hung around with regularly, and these were friends in my neighborhood on North 14th street.

In the late 60's I became good friends with Fred Grenier, because he use to come over and sleep at his sister Barbara's, and she lived in the house behind us. We became good friends. From this friendship, I became great friends with Basil Barcome.

When I started helping Bob Miller (the quadriplegic) in 1988, what started as a job, turned into a friendship. He was down to earth with a wonderful soul. Seeing each other every night, we got to know each other really well. Our hopes and dreams and fears. He passed away, but he comes around to let me know he is doing really well, and knows what I am doing. He even comes with me as I take pictures.

Friends, I tell you, I've been lucky enough to have some of the best. I thank each of them for being my friend.

In this section, I have compiled some poems about my friends.

A Caring Man
© by Bud Lemire on Dec 12, 2009

He was a man I recognized from before
When he use to work at the Sav-Mor
A quiet man, but caring in his ways
I came to know him better in recent days

He’s had his share of losses, in the time that he’s spent here
His own battle with his health would cause some to shed a tear
It seems our human bodies, break down so easily
Things we never thought it could ever be

Thank God for the strong spirit, that each of us own
That keeps us going strongly, on our long journey home
Many of us never realize, the spirit that’s inside
Until our human life is done, and we’ve gone and died

He works on the jigsaw puzzle, it calms his mind
Brings him to tranquility, leaving stressful thoughts behind
He’ll take in conversations with those who are around
And he helps those in need, wherever they are found
He appreciates the little things
And takes whatever life brings
He carries on the best that he can
This friend of mine is A Caring Man

This is for you Brian Bowden! For all you’ve endured,

and for all that you give to others with your gentle caring ways of

understanding. May the bigger picture of your life come together,

when the final piece is added. Thank you for sharing your presence with us.

A Circle Of Friends

© 1998 by Bud Lemire

There's a circle of friends, I E-Mail each day

They warm me inside, in their own special way

Through the phone wires, and onto my screen

The words come to life, where they can be seen

It was that wire, that brought us in touch

From there on, it didn't take much

To feel the common interest, that we all share

The way that we think, the way that we care

Traveling from different places, the letters came through

If you received my letter, I'm talking about you

You took the time, to write a letter to me

A special friendship transpired, which you will agree

These circle of friends, are very important in my life

Their presence holds me up, when I'm battling strife

And when they're feeling low, and not quite right

I hope that they know, that I'll be their light

We learn from each other, about life, about love

We grow stronger in spirit, with the light from above

We help each other, when we need a hand

It's a wonderful feeling, it's all part of life's plan

These circle of friends, mean the world to my heart

May this bond that we share, never be broken apart

As time keeps passing, let us always be friends

In this life and after, because love never ends

This poem is dedicated to my Circle Of Friends that I have met through my

E-Mail and through snail mail also. They have really made my life have

more meaning than it ever has. I say thanks many times to these special

people, for being my friend.

A Friend Named Steve

©by Bud Lemire on Jan 16, 2023

I was told, in Louisiana, he fell out of a tree

Helping out, after a hurricane, and fell quickly

He ended up at Harbor Tower, and needed care

Through the agency I worked for, I became aware

Looking back ten years ago, it seems like a dream

Donna wanted me to help with him, be part of the team

I was shy at first, but then I got to know him

Donna would come by, to give him a trim

We got to know each other well

I'd listen to his past that he would tell

Trips to Beaver Island, with his Dad

All the plane trips, that they had

On TV during the day, he watched CNN News

We both agreed, and had the same political views

In the evening, it was “Archer,” “Futurama,” and “Family Guy”

I'd stay until work was done, visit awhile, and say goodnight and bye

He'd tease me for a reaction, and watch my face

I always had a snappy comeback, to put him in his place

He said to me once, “It's great to have another intelligent person to talk to”

As the time passed by, the friendship that we had come to know, grew

Whenever there was something, that I didn't want to do

He'd joke around, and we always made it through

He was a good man, and also very smart

If you knew him like I did, he had a good heart

Steve, you made it to the spirit world now. You

can walk, and do many things you couldn't before.

You are free of the limitations your body gave you.

We are all free of our limitations when we pass.

Thank you for being a friend of mine. As I was

there for you, you were also there for me. The

world out there is a cruel place, and we fought

our fears together. Thank you my friend.

^j^ Dedicated to Steve Peterson

A Friend, Time And Time Again

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

I would like to thank, a very special friend

Who has listened to my worries, time and time again

Through the years, we have each grown

And seen the many changes, that were shown

We've taken many trips, which have taken us far away

The roads to the future, brought us to this day

We can not return to the past, and all that has gone on before

But face our greatest challenge, by moving through that door

He saw me at my best, and he saw me at my worst

He saw my well was running dry, when I craved for a thirst

He listened to me, when no one else was there

And with his presence, I found it easy to share

He saw me, when I lost so much weight

He saw me, when I passed beyond the gate

He knew my darkest fears, and my greatest dreams

He heard all of my whispers, he heard all of my screams

And I stayed with him, as he had himself a fight

To win life over death, that brought him to the light

It wasn't always easy, we both have been through so much

But his wheels kept on moving, within I felt his touch

Thirteen years, down life's road together

In every season, and all kinds of weather

A down to earth man, my quadriplegic friend

Bob, I thank you very much, time and time again

Another one for my friend Bob Miller.

He's been there for me many times.

Thanks Bob!

A Good Pat, A Special Friend

© 1998 by Bud Lemire

This is a poem for a good friend, and a fellow Genealogist

Who holds a special place, upon my friendship list

She has the knack to tune in, to every heart and mind

And gives much enthusiasm, with all that we do find

When everything seems lost, and hopelessness does prevail

She smiles and says “Watch for their paper trail”

She has a way of saying, Never is not forever

We'll find our ancestors, as long as we endeavor

No matter what we research, no matter where we're bound

When the time is right, our ancestors will be found

She's a very spiritual person, it shows when she enters a room

Her uplifting personality, shines in a world of gloom

She listens closely, as we make a plan of strategy

Knowing the route they took, helps in finding the key

There are many sources, as to where our searches will lead

To seek out each of them, helps fulfill our need

Each little piece that we find, fits in a certain place

Of a much bigger picture, that each of us will face

When we finally find an ancestor, our excitement becomes quite clear

She matches our thrilling experience, like a reflection in the mirror

She enjoys hearing of our updates, as we continue our Ancestral Quest

Listening with keen interest, of the details we address

When we receive a letter, from a relative from afar

She shines as bright as we do, as if she were the star

We've known each other for several years, of this I must confess

Without her support and guidance, my knowledge would be less

She holds a special place in my heart, she is a special friend

This poem could be much longer, but with this, I think I'll end

Pat has since passed away, and she even came in a dream visitation.

But the times we shared doing genealogy together, shall never be

forgotten. Thank you Patricia Sundstrom!

A Knack For Empathy

© by Bud Lemire on May 11, 2004

You have a knack for empathy

You feel the pain surrounding me

I can’t control what happens there

All spirits connected, seem to share

I know the negative is felt by you

But it is what I’m going through

I’ll try my best to win this fight

And you my friend must remain in the light

I’ll pray that you have some release

From all you feel and you find peace

For I know if I had that same dream

I’d feel miserable and I would scream

I can not stop this until I heal

And I know just how you feel

I pray for peace within your soul

I love you dearly, I hope you know

My friend, I am trying my best to come out of this.

I know you are deeply worried about me.

I am doing much better, and I feel I am almost healed.

But I am human, and entitled to feelings.

I know many of us seem to stay too long in our pain,

but some of us need it for the lesson we must learn.

My dear friend, you must block the energy from hurting you.

And I will also try my best to conquer my pain so you can feel better as well.

Thanks for being there, and I am really sorry that you feel me this way.

A Special Blessing

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 30, 2005

Singing songs of Egyptian myth

Caught up in the spiritual bliss

He has come to show you the way

The feelings felt behind walls of gray

This joining of souls that was foreseen

By those who travel in between

"Into your life will come a gentle soul"

"And he will help your spirit to grow"

Still she wondered, why did he come

It may appear, to be strange to some

Has he come to feel, or to give love

Or maybe it was, for each of the above

He has come to help you feel

Awaken your spirit, and learn to heal

He has come to teach you a lesson

And give your soul a special blessing

To touch the flower, grown from the seed

That was planted there, he felt the need

Never fear the feeling, the truth he shares

To help your spirit grow, so you're aware

"A gentle soul will touch your soul"

"A special blessing, that you will know"

This poem is for a special soul named Evita

A Special Hug For Nelak

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 14, 2004

I can write a million words

The fluttering wings of thousands of birds

I can dance with a bear who shares all his honey

But I'd rather have this than all of the world's money

A special connection with a woman so rare

Has a heart so giving, she naturally cares

My heart is so warmed by her presence here

Her gentle spirit, is one I hold dear

She's a young woman, with a great insight

She can see inside souls, and reach their light

Her words come alive when she sends them my way

And I know every time, she makes better my day

She loves the animals, and shares her love there

She's wise beyond years, and is so aware

Spell her name backwards and you have her real name

Either way you spell it, it comes out the same

Her love is felt, by all who she knows

With each passing day, the feelings just grow

So often I can't get enough of the together time we spend

So I send her loving thoughts, to such a true caring friend

Someday I wish to hug this special woman in person,

for she has touched my life very deeply. I am so happy to know and love her.

My life has truly been enlightened by her presence.

Thank you Nelak! With Love, ~Bud~

Nelak's response: Thank you very much. It means a lot to me -certainly does. You make me so happy... We've both been through so much in our lives and we always had each other for support. I love you so very much. You will and always have been in my heart. Words cannot fully describe how this made me feel. Once again, thank you Bud. ~Kalen~

A Special Moment

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 6, 2012

It was sad news at the Special Chat Event

A gathering of friends was how the time was spent

The place where many people go

Was soon to be closed, everyone would know

Progress is the future, technology and the rest

It doesn't always feel like, it's done for the best

We've made a lot of friends there, and shared so very much

We wondered how we'd all, ever stay in touch

Selfish comments, “How could he do this to me?”

Many words appeared and some would agree

It was a heartfelt moment, suspended in time

When those that came together, felt emptiness intertwine

Everything happens for a reason, that is what they say

It's possible there's a good one, what happened on that day

I went to sleep, closed my eyes in the middle of the night

I woke to find the sunshine, filling me with light

A voice inside me said, “Come here and take a look”

Someone's opened up a group of friends on Facebook

There upon my screen my friends would all appear

Some I hadn't seen in so many years

It was a great feeling, love brought us together

For a special moment, that we all could treasure

*

When one door closes, another one opens

We never want that door to close

Unsure of what is ahead of us

Many times good things are just ahead

We must be positive and know we are guided

As we meet the future with a good feeling inside

*

Thank you James Van Praagh, for giving us a place (The Chat Place) to meet so many wonderful people

who came looking for answers, looking for like minded people, and looking for

comfort. Thank you for teaching us and sharing your insight with us.

Cammy and the Ops, thank you for being there to guide us, and help us when we

got confused or stuck on something. And for being a friend.

Thank you friends for being there when we needed someone to chat with to bring

us comfort and peace of mind

Between all three of us, we made up a wonderful community based on love and trust.

We made friends and memories that will be cherished for the rest of our life.

Amber's Light

© by Bud Lemire on June 7, 2008

Today I received a letter, straight from a little girl’s heart
Who told me my presence, played a very special part
She showed me respect, and filled it with her love
A Charmed one she is, from Heaven above

Oh dearest Amber, with your soul so bright
You’ve touched me deeply, with your loving light
I know all the things, that you’ve been through
With me around, you’re free to be the real you

No insults, I respect you for all you are
Though you are a child, you have traveled far
You have seen and heard, things that you should not
With me, you can speak freely with every thought

No need to worry that I’ll bring you down
I’ll do my best too see there is no frown
I’m fair and equal with everything I do
I’ll do my best to do the best for you

Please know I’m not rich, but I’ve got a lot of love to give
There will be things without, each day that we live
If you give me a chance, I’ll do my very best
Because as a team, we three won’t expect any less

As a team we will work together to make each day better
Because each day we grow together, is a pleasure
And a smile is always nice to see
So you can expect many from me

For a little girl named Amber who wrote me a letter one day and it touched me.

She's all grown up now. Her Mom is Linda who lives in Vermont.

An Earth Angel

© by Bud Lemire on June 8, 2005

I wish there was something, I could do for you

But it's out of my hands, there's nothing I can do

I hate to see you so weak, when you were stronger before

You've always been a special friend, someone I can't ignore

So I called upon the Angels, so they could help you through

I know that they are with you, I know that God is too

I know a million thoughts, are going through your head

But on your spiritual journey, remember these words I said

"Death is just a state of mind"

"You carry on, with the divine"

"The soul you have will never die"

"It's for the physical that we cry"

"On your journey, you'll discover much"

"And you will feel an Angel's touch"

"For they're connected to you and me"

"The wondrous things that you will see"

Some people last a long long time

While others have hardships most unkind

I know you'll walk once again

And fly in Heaven, my dear friend

The prayers I send are sent with love

The Angels dance on the clouds above

Because you have touched so many here

You are An Earth Angel, who'll always be dear

This is for my dear friend Bob,

the quadriplegic who has been through so much.

An Unselfish Soul

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 12, 2006

If only I could take away your pain

Let only peacefulness remain

But all I can do is pray

And hope everything will be okay

If I could only take on some of what you feel

Ease some of the hurt, and help your body to heal

But I am limited to what I can do

Know this, my thoughts are always with you

Always remember I'm closely by your side

In spirit, we are each others guide

Wherever you are, our souls shall meet

Only then, shall our journey be complete

Why pain came into your life, I'll never know

Only that it may be to let your spirit grow

Maybe we'll know the answer, when we return home

And we'll find out about the bodies, that we have on loan

I know you've shown me, so very much

So many special moments, felt through your touch

You will always be a special part of my life's journey

An Unselfish Soul, who gave so much to me

Dedicated to Michelle Qualey-Andrews,

who has endured so much more than any spirit should have to.

Later on, she did find someone she could be happy with.

Angelglow

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 22, 2004

There's an Angelglow about me, whenever you are near

A fast paced vibration, and all things become clear

Energies throughout, inside they start to flow

Feelings of a strong connection, of an Angelglow

It's invisible, never seen but often felt

Touching your emotions, causing cold hearts to melt

When all else fails, you will surely know

Love surrounds you, with its Angelglow

The breath of life you're breathing

All things have a reason

Strong and powerful is the soul

When surrounded by the Angelglow

The life path you're walking, all beneath your feet

Along the way, the different people that you meet

All things experienced, all things that you will know

Spiritual Awakening, gently feel the Angelglow

I met her in the JVP Chat, and we had a special friendship.

Autumn Memories
© by Bud Lemire on Oct 10, 2008

It’s that time of the year, the changing colors in the trees
The beauty among leaves, as they fall with a gentle breeze
Don’t let this season pass, without taking in the scene
The many colors here, that aren’t white or green

The beauty of the yellow and orange among the red
As they gently fall and make an earthly bed
I recall as a kid playing in the leaf piles
Oh the memories brings back many smiles

Jumping onto the pile, throwing leaves in the air
And finding that a friend was hiding there
We collected boxes, and made a box fort
It always helped to play, if you were small and short

We’d play tag, with a flashlight we would seek
In the dark of boxes, to see who we would meet
It was fun to crawl among the boxes in the dark
As the light beams would show upon its mark

I recall across the street from Jim’s Miracle Market, in a yard with a friend
We’d gather to play among the leaves, never thinking those days would end
Carefree in the season, the leaves and the box fort we made
Making Autumn Memories, that will never fade

Dedicated to my friend Richard Norman, who helped make being a kid much more fun.

The first letter from her, was May 18, 1987

On her Birthday today, I found out she's gone to Heaven

Her letters, always brought a smile to my face

Now I know, today, she's found a better place

She'd tell about Mum, and her boys

And her cats, who played with the toys

Books she was reading, was a topic we would share

Many times our letters, would take us anywhere

Her letters, were always a welcome sight

This year finds her, in a better light

Over years, memories fade, we've been out of touch

I wanted to let her know, my dear friend, I loved you so much

Her words written in a letter, that came from Liverpool

Brightened up each day, as if it were a jewel

I wanted to keep all of her letters, and read them once more

The space I had was limited, I had to throw them out the door

I hold the treasured moments, that we shared within each letter

I smile as I think of Av, and it makes me feel much better

She was a special friend, a Pen Pal and the very best

This wonderful soul who wrote me, I was surely blessed

Av, every time your letter appeared in my Mailbox, it was like

a gift. As I think about you, you were the gift that wrote the letter

that was a gift for me. Each letter was packed with all the

ingredients that come from a wonderful soul. And they came

through in each letter. I even read them to my Mum, who also

loved each one. I thank you so much for crossing paths with

me, and sharing some time as a wonderful Pen Pal.

Dedicated to my Pen Pal Friend from Liverpool England, Avril Cain

Basil

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 4, 2003

Basil my dear friend, for so many years

You've been so much comfort, through all my tears

With a forward flip, people stopped to stare

Oh the memories, of all that we did share

Rehearsing The Barnacle, with a salt shaker tip

A home made tequila sunrise, raised to your lip

Moron Man and Idiot Boy, teamed up back then

Your creative imagination, when we would pretend

The music we'd share, the tunes we liked to play

Many of those bands, I still listen to today

I can still recall, our graduation night

Not long after that, our life took flight

Together we'd be, until you went with the force

My life lead to care giving, a far different course

To Germany, to England, and Italy you'd go

Sending me tapes, on news that helped you grow

Marriage to Laurie, came down the road

While I took to chat-rooms, as my life flowed

When my Mom passed, you did something really great

Driving my brother to the wake, we'll always appreciate

My life lead me, to where I am today

But the times we shared, are just a memory away

You'll always remain, a rare and special friend

I hope you always know, with these words that I send

To a friend who has been there for me for many years, Basil Barcome.

Thank you so very much for being a special friend through the years

Beat Of The Drum

© 2002 by Bud Lemire

Beat the drum in rhythm, beat the drum slow

The sound of the drummer, wherever you go

A soul so pure and heartfelt, plays the Native American drum

But it's Southern England, where her origin is from

Her Mum died of cancer, at such an early age

And she's been through a lot, to have now reached this stage

She takes care of her Dad, and her job is to care

She spreads all her love, with the friends that she shares

Her gentleness and kindness, are felt by all those around

She's got her feet down to Earth, wherever she is found

She treats everyone equal, with love in her ways

I have felt this, and I've known her many days

She's very Spiritual, for I've felt it so much

And greets people in her room, with her loving touch

Her loving spirit are felt by many, who enter her room

As the drum and her heartbeat, go boom boom boom

She's a special person, I am happy to know

Like the flower in the light, she's learning to grow

And the love that she shares, is the love from her heart

If you've felt her presence, then you've taken part

In the Pal Talk chat room, she was called Flowerlight.

I'd go to her room often because many spiritual people

were there. She's be playing her drums, and she always

welcomed me to her room.

Better Days

© 1999 by Bud Lemire

When did the darkness begin

To consume you, all over and within

I have listened, and I've heard your cry

And it's not fair, that you should want to die

I feel your pain, in the words that you write

I send you comforting words filled with light

I throw you down a line, I hope you'll take

Because of all the hopelessness that you make

Don't judge yourself too hard, you're a worthy man

And never say you can't, when you know you can

Never say you aren't, when you are

Don't give up, reaching for that star

The star may seem out of reach, but it's not true

There's a way to reach it, with all you do

To reach Heaven, you go through Hell

The rewards you receive, are very well

Don't give up the ship, you're not sunk yet

Your boat is shaken, you're just a little wet

I know you're a survivor, listen to me

Let the negative feelings, inside you fly free

Don't judge yourself by what you think others see

Look at yourself for all you can be

My friend, I felt your caring ways

And I know, for you, there are better days

For my friend Roger in Texas, who was going through

some really bad times.

Between Worlds

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 23, 2007

His spirit travels, he’s not all there
In the astral plane, to everywhere
While family and friends, gather around his chair
The ones who love him, the ones who care
Now and then his eyes open wide
A part of him, is still inside
He’s given up, it’s time to go
Home again, where all spirits flow

No food he will eat, release all his pain
Let his soul be free, his body will remain
Treasure the man, a great soul to know
Through pain and agony, his spirit did grow

While his body slept
His loved one wept
“He’s someone I love so”
“But it’s time, that I let him go”
“I won’t hold him back”
“Yet it won’t be an act”
“I’ll let the tears flow”
“Because I love him so”

He enters the light, to see what is there
A dog wagging his tail, a love they did share
His parents greet him, with a loving embrace
A wide smile crosses, all over his face

He’s returned home, to the place he belongs
While on the Earth plane, they sing his songs
The life that he lead, the time that he shared
Of an honorable soul, a gentleman who cared

Dear friend, may you always feel the love that we share

Birthday Angel

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 14, 2004

Dancing high up on a cloud

She does her spirits proud

She is an Angel, this is true

She loves to touch, me and you

From Australia, she makes her home

But many places she does roam

She carries herself with so much grace

And has a warm smile upon her face

Oh how I'm happy she is my friend

In a world where bonding never ends

A life together, and then when done

Spirit World joining, for some more fun

On this special day of her birth

I let her know of all she's worth

More special than a pot of gold

For she gets better, not too old

Oh Angel of the heart and soul

Who's been with me, and always knows

What makes me tick, oh tock tock tock

You've done well on your Earth walk

So journey where, your life will go

And always I want you to know

Our loving friendship will always be

All things special, for you and me

\

Angelica!!! I wrote this at the library in 10 minutes time.

I hope you like it. It was written from my heart. ~Bud~

Hope your Birthday is a great one.

Written for my dear friend Joan Benecke of Australia

Born To Be Special
©
By Bud Lemire on May 19, 2010

She’s lived a sheltered life, always by her Mother’s side
Until the day her Mother fell, and life took her for a ride
Trying to understand, all things in every day
Strangers surrounded her, she always had her say

She was born to be special, unlike all the rest
Having to try harder, to do her very best
Motivated by faith, what else could she do
Misunderstood by many, yet she always made it through

Who can she talk to, who will understand
All that she is going through, when life isn’t grand
The pain that keeps her up at night
Or the sorrow when things aren’t quite right

All she wishes is to be normal, but that’ll never be
Because she is a bit different, as anyone can see
She treats everyone kindly, as good as she can do
Yet there are times, when she doesn’t have a clue

Who was to teach and show her, her Mother passed away
Alone she walks this world, but I know she’ll be okay
Maybe one day, she will truly find
Peace and understanding, in her special mind

For my friend, who has a special journey here on earth

You'll know this man, he's been around

But many times he won't make a sound

His Dad fixed shoes for years on Ludington street

That Cobbler on 10th & Ludington covered many feet

He loves music from his childhood time

He'll bring up an artist, a song, or a certain line

He shares an apartment with a cat named Murray

He's quite a character and he sure is furry

He can be seen with his friend Eddie, then you would see

You might even find him at times, talking to me

Dishwashing at Drifters, he kept the plates clean

He's a nice guy, I've never seen him act mean

He has sisters named Connie and Daisy too

They stop by to help him, it's nice that they do

He lives here at The Harbor Tower, just so you know

If you see him at all, just stop to say hello

If it's a song from the 70's, then you'll make his day

Or an artist from then, just go ahead and just say

You'll start up a conversation, and the record will spin

You'll have a friendship, just waiting to begin

This one is for you Brian Shracta, an all around good guy

Bryan's Song

© by Bud Lemire on March 22, 2012

I remember the time like a long ago dream

At first you had lived in a house colored green

Your Mom married, and you moved to a house of yellow

I remember you friend, as a very nice fellow

Playing football in your front yard was lots of fun

Steve Martin and my brother John, joined in the run

The Ferrari's were friends that you always knew

Keith Pomeroy was in your neighborhood too

I also remember Hide N' Seek outside at night

We played in your yard without any light

I'd spend the night at your house, or you at mine

Wherever we were, we had a good time

Your nickname was “Booger,” which didn't fit you at all

But to me you were Bryan, whenever you'd call

Even as a kid, you always had a lot of responsibility

The world seemed to rest on your shoulders, it seemed to me

Looking after your younger sister Pam, you stayed close to home

But on the other days, you were free to roam

We had lots of fun in our neighborhood

My memories of those times makes me feel good

You were a good person who had a good soul

In this lifetime, you were an honor to know

Carrying your responsibility all through your life

A family was formed, and you took on a wife

Stress can be so hard on people in the world today

It's hard on our bodies, but I know you'll be okay

You've returned to the place all souls go to

Now that your time on Earth is through

You spend time in the company of Angels, you can't go wrong

I honor your life as a dear friend, so this is your song

Dedicated to my dear friend Bryan Fletcher.

I remember so many fun times we've had together as kids.

Thank you for being part of them

Cathy (Through The Eyes Of Maryann)

© by Bud Lemire on May 9, 2005

She's been my friend for over forty years

Through countless laughter and many tears

We'd take the kids to the park

And visit until it got very dark

Behind her house, the kids would play

In the woods and creek, on a special day

In her kitchen, we'd be drinking coffee

A special time shared, in my memory

Oh the memories within my mind

A rare friend like you is hard to find

But I found you, and you found me

And the friendship we shared made me happy

Near the end, you suffered in pain

I sat near you, and I remain

I wish I could have taken your pain away

But God has plans, so instead I'll pray

Oh dear God, this prayer I send

To guide and embrace, my special friend

For she's an Angel, I'm sure you'll see

Because you know all, she is Cathy

This is written for my friend Maryann Belanger,

who has lost her friend Cathy to a fight with cancer.

Coach Thibault
©
By Bud Lemire on Aug 28, 2009

When I was younger, several years ago
There was a coach, I came to know
I was a student at Escanaba High
I wasn’t good at gymnastics, although I did try

This coach treated everyone equal and fair
I knew with all my efforts I was glad to be there
It was at that time in the gym
That I came to know and admire him

I didn’t follow sports, but always heard his name
In the news, Coach Thibault’s team won the game
I didn’t know then, but soon it would be so
This coach and special man, I would come to know

As in every case, time seemed to pass by
I’d see him at the City Band concert, and I’d say hi
Or I’d see him walking around in the grocery store
He always remembered me, and shared a little more

After telling him who I was, he looked at me
A smile crossed his face, with a returning memory
Yes, I remember you,” is what he said
And it took me back to those days in Physical Ed

I couldn’t let this moment pass without honoring this special man in this poem.

He has given so much to the High School kids through the years.
I saw him recently at Elmer’s and he remembered me with a smile.

He asked where I was living now. I told him The Harbor Tower.

He said his Mother use to live here. He smiled and thanked me

for the conversation. I went away with a memory of a man

I was glad to have known in my lifetime.

Update: After he read this poem that I sent to him. He treated me to lunch at Elmer's Restaurant.

We sit and chat and he said all his kids loved my poem. For a few years after, I would see him at

Elmer's or at a concert at the Bandshell. Since then, he has passed. But I shall always remember this

wonderful man.

Conversation With A Friend

©1994 by Bud Lemire

There was a special friend, I encountered quite a lot

Upon our first meeting our early visits she forgot

I didn't know that, and sent her a poem and a letter

Along with a Christmas card, in hopes of knowing her better

Christmas Eve she hand delivered a card, saying we should get together

Time passing by, along with the freezing cold weather

I stopped to see her, but she wasn't in at the Antique Mall

Several days later, from Elmer's she gave me a call

Our first meeting was planned, we could get together at last

I'll never forget that Sunday night, as she told me about her past

I was "gaggy" nervous, as I usually am at first

I brought her a Dr. Pepper, to help satisfy her thirst

I was happy to find, she liked Star Trek like I do

"Beam me up Scotty, or rather make that two"

She likes unicorns, Dark Shadows, Country music, and a little Rock

And a special friendship with three cats, that is really hard to knock

As she told me about her life, with pictures of journeys she's made

I found that the time together, was rapidly starting to fade

Although I hardly knew her, I enjoyed her words and her smile

My nervousness gone and forgotten, the visit was highly worthwhile

I wanted to turn back the clocks, and start all over again

Because I was really enjoying, the Conversation With A Friend

This was The Stranger On The Bike that I first met in 1993 at Elmer's County Market,

named Rita Van Effen. We lost touch with each other after this meeting. Somehow, this meeting gave me the feeling that she has a memory problem,, and next meeting she would forget me again. I see her often at Elmer's but there's no recognition in her eyes. I realized now, that my gift to help people was even working at this early time. Her ex-husband was abusive to her, and her Mom didn't like her at all. I hope that I was able to give her some comfort in our time together.

Dancing On The Other Side
© by Bud Lemire on Sept 26, 2008

His sight has returned, he’s dancing again
On the Other Side, you’ll find my friend
He always said he’d dance one more time
In the Heavenly Kingdom his dance is divine

I’d sit in his presence, he’d look in the air
Words would come out, the stories he’d share
He’d tell me stories, of people he knew here
It was always a pleasure to lend him my ear

We’d listen to music, songs from the past
He’d name every one, I never had to ask
He took pleasure in each song that I’d play
It made me happy to see him smile every day

Even though he was blind, he loved the sunlight
And he’d go off to the park, riding his bike
He was motivated by his love for life
And was careful to do everything just right

He often went swimming at the Y.M.C.A.
Which kept his muscles strong every day
His sense of humor was loved very much
This wonderful man had a special touch

He’s whole again, Dancing On The Other Side
In the Heavenly Kingdom, with a smile so wide
Having spent time with him, I can truly say
I’m so glad that we met, and that he came my way

Lawrence Erickson, thank you so very much for all you shared

David My Friend

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

David, I want you to know how special you are to me

I can see the caring, loving ways, are in your family tree

Because they came through, on the screen one day

When you showed up, to help Kristina on her way

You gave her strength, when she found it hard to cope

You lifted her spirit, with your presence, you gave her hope

With your humor and support, you eased her pain and fear

With a promise to keep her safe, until she arrived here

We would have been great friends, this much is true

Because everything you have done, I would also do

I can't understand, why these tragedies happen in life

I wanted you to be around, when Kristina becomes my wife

You are a man, I am proud to know and love

And I know you'll be guiding us from above

I really don't know, what God has planned for you

But I promise you, and Kristina, that my love is true

I will continue what you started, with your loving light

Till the end of time, I will love Kristina, every day, every night

I will protect her, I will guide her, I will love her

And since we are much alike, of this you can be sure

You shall not be forgotten, as long as I shall live

You'll be remembered, for all the love you did give

My prayers were answered, when you answered the call

And kept Kristina standing, when I thought she would fall

I send a prayer to a cousin, who came to Kristina's side

Who's spirit lives on in Heaven, only his Eartly body died

And in memories, you shall be deep in our heart

Because of your role, you played a special part

May your spirit grow in Heavenly light, my friend

And may you feel all the love, that I send

This was written for Kristina Wadel's Cousin David. He

stood by Kristina and helped her through many

things in life. Now he is in the Afterlife, and he

is watching over her as she continues her journey

of life. Our paths have taken different directions.

Dear Heart

© by Bud Lemire on March 5, 2005

Dear Heart, so gentle and kind

These are qualities in you that I find

Gentle and caring, for those around

Let the light of love, always surround

Dear Heart, gentle on the soul

A special friend, I'm so glad to know

You are gifted, with a quality so rare

And with your love, always willing to share

Dear Heart, beating so deep inside

In you, I can always confide

You always listen, to what I have to say

Bringing out the sunshine, on a rainy day

Dear Heart, my heart knows your heart

For our souls in friendship, are never apart

Two hearts together, of this friendship we share

Are two hearts joined, by the willingness to care

Dear Heart, so gentle and kind

Warmth of the heart, the soul, and the mind

Gentle and caring, always to be found

Helping friends, when they are around

Doing What You Do

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 9, 2004

Just keep doing what you're doing

Don't let your life go to ruins

Carry on the best way that you know

And you'll have so much more to show

Keep on being you

The person we knew

You surely grew

Into a better you

Through failing health and pain

It's cleared the cobwebs in your brain

You've opened your eyes and seen

What is before and after, and in between

Your smile opens up the hearts of some

Who let their worries make them numb

Your cheerful voice breaks on through

So keep on doing what you do

Donna, A Caring Soul

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 14, 2014

I've worked with Donna for many years

She may seem tough but I've seen her tears

I've worked with her through my years with Bob

I know she gives her very best at every job

She's not afraid to give her all

And answers when she gets the call

Some days I feel she doesn't get a rest

But I know her clients always get the best

She even helped my Mom several years ago

I came to know this woman with a caring soul

She's been keeping people clean for so very long

Her thriving willpower is so very strong

You probably see her thinking she lives here

She comes around often because her client is near

In her years she's seen so many go

Passed away, to become a Heavenly soul

I do know this, it doesn't matter where

If she's around, someone's getting the best care

So I honor her, she deserves this poem

For her caring efforts, of which I have known

This one is for you Donna (Caron). For your dedication and reliability

for always being there and giving the best to the people you care

for.

Dove Of Light

© 2002 by Bud Lemire

Casara, my friend, The Dove Of Light

She flies so high, into the night

She shines so bright, upon us all

And this sweet dove, will never fall

From the path, she may have strayed

But this sweet Dove, will never fade

Her journey has taken her, to a place

Where she must recognize, her own face

For she is unsure, of where to go

But at the right time, she will know

For the spirits are with her, to help her through

And guiding her, on what she must do

Even when she thinks she has failed herself

The answers are there, plain as a book on the shelf

Though she thinks, her wings have been clipped

She can soar high, she's only just tripped

Fly high again, sweet Dove Of Light

Shine like a beacon, into the night

The path you have chosen, will again be found

Because my friend, the love and light is all around

For my dear friend I met at Pal Talk, Casara.

Elly
© by Bud Lemire on January 22, 2009

Oh Elly, you beautiful mare
How are you doing up there
I know God has a beautiful place
I sure miss nuzzling your face

I thank you for all the peace of mind
That you gave to me when I couldn’t find
When things got too bad at home
You showed me I was never alone

When I sat upon your back
You kept me on track
You spoke to me in your own special way
And I listened and heard all you had to say

Your words were horse
But the best, of course
The words I understood
You were always good

It won’t be the same without you
You were treasured, I hope you knew
A prayer and nuzzle for you my friend
Galloping up there in the fields of Heaven

Elly, for those you left behind.

You shall always be in their prayers and thoughts with the love you

shared with them. Thank you so very much for being such a wonderful soul

who shared your time here with them.

Note: This was about a horse that my friend Linda knew in Vermont

EviCado

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 21, 2005

You're my EviCado, delicious to my soul

Inside your shell, is someone I love to know

Unique and special, you are this to me

And so very precious, you will always be

Underneath the skin, is someone so sweet

Where there lives the soul, life within the meat

Coconuts and bananas, hanging from the tree

You're my EviCado, you mean everything to me

You don't need seasoning, to have a good taste

Treasured is our time, with no time to waste

So very close to my heart, a soul that I desire

Caught up in this passion, of a spiritual fire

Ripe and very soft, gentle to behold

Kindness flowing deeply, you're a pot of gold

You're my EviCado, often do I crave

Feeling of your presence, within a warm wave

For my dear friend who loves Avocados as much as I do, Evi.

I met Evi in the JVP Chat. We were kindred spirits.

Flowerlight & Mystic Gardens

© 2002 by Bud Lemire

Shining on everyone, is the great Flowerlight

Blessing your spirit, guiding you through the night

Healing your heart, healing your soul

So once again, your spirit will feel whole

Mystical things, and all around love

With the Angels guidance, from up above

Spiritual friends, can be found everywhere

Unconditional love, is what they like to share

In these Mystic Gardens, many things do grow

You'll meet many spirits, and feel your love flow

Flowers of life, with their lights shining bright

Angels nearby, in their spiritual flight

Ease back in comfort, enjoy your stay

Let the light of love, make your day

With your spirit, being all it can be

Soaring quite high, feeling quite free

I met her on Pal Talk and she had a room

I would stop in at. She loved the Native Drums

of America and felt a connection to them. She

was a down to Earth good soul.

Foggy Future

© by Bud Lemire on March 11th, 2003

You have a foggy future? I know that isn't true

I see a lot of brightness, in poems written by you

From what's written, you say you're eleven years old

But from what I'm feeling, you have a heart of gold

I know I hardly know you, hardly very much

But your words have reached inside, with a gentle touch

You saw inside my verses, and realized they made sense

You could see inside my yard, by looking over the fence

The music that is playing, is warm and very sweet

Bringing happy tears of joy, with its rhythmic beat

Softly do you play, your own melody

Sounds from the piano, learning is the key

Foggy is the future? But yours seems very bright

For you can still hear, and you still have your sight

You know how to choose, all the right words

The music of your soul, is in harmony with the singing birds

My dear friend, we can learn a lot from each other

Long ago I was a child, not long ago I lost my Mother

I'm still learning, and growing along the way

And blessed by your presence, to brighten up my day

This is for the poet foggy-future, who's very talented and her poems are very nice.

Read them and you'll see what I mean.

She's a special little girl who's future is much brighter than any fog.

Forrest & Mary

© by Bud Lemire on April 29, 2015

When I first started working for them, he wasn't all there

Mary was in the Hospital, Forrest was asleep in his chair

I occasionally helped Forrest, but it was mostly Mary's therapy

Of why I was needed, and where I was suppose to be

I'd sit with Forrest, while Mary was away

Getting her hair done, on some sunny day

Forrest worked at the State Bank a long time

Their love lasted because it was mighty fine

From Ohio to Detroit and then to here

Raising three children, whom they hold dear

Linda, Judy, and then there was Steve

Until it was Forrest's time to leave

The life that they shared was the very best

They couldn't have asked for anything less

Ogden Avenue is where they called home

It's where Forrest's spirit seems to roam

Mary sits in her recliner, and she has her dreams

Some are so real, or at least it seems

She is in Hawaii with Forrest and having fun

Staying there until the dream was done

She says “I was in Hawaii, and it seemed so real”

Inside her soul, it was Forrest she could feel

She wakes up with a smile upon her face

Knowing that Forrest took her to that special place

Forrest is in Heaven now, but he visits Mary in her

dreams and in her memories. And when he does,

she smiles. Because their love lasted a very long

time. And shall continue as all love does, Forever.

Note: Mary passed as well, and has joined Forrest

Friends

© by Bud Lemire on June 2, 2004

The pressures of our journey, are lessened while we’re here

By the presence of good friends, whom are special and are dear

They’re here to help us through

In everything we do

They keep us standing tall

When sometimes we think we’ll fall

They keep our spirit strong

Whether we are right or wrong

Earth Angels who will guide us

They’re someone we can trust

On this journey of our soul

These friends are good to know

Friends come many shapes and sizes, even when they aren’t near

Afar or in person, they calm our spirit of our fears

I couldn’t ask for better companions, as the future comes to be

Than the ones that I call friends, who have always believed in me

Friends And Family

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

Anyone can be a brother, a sister, or a cousin too

But what makes them special, is what they share with you

There's always new relatives, being born every day

But they never get to know you, in the same way

Sometimes you'll find a friend, who's as close as a sister or a brother

They live so far away, and they had a different Father and Mother

It feels like you've known them, for so many years

Because you shared so much, the smiles and the tears

There is no difference, between your family and a good friend

When the love that you have within, is the love that you send

For the love shared with them, means everything

It's like joining in a happy song, that you each sing

It's the way you treat them, and how they treat you

That makes a family your friend, and makes your friends your family too

It is always good to know, they are not far away

And you can keep in touch with them, every day

They care for you, and your best interests are at heart

In their life, they accept you for playing your part

They don't judge you, for mistakes that you made in your past

They love you for the present, for the stone had already been cast

In life, nobody understands it all

They are there, to catch you if you fall

This is the love within the friends and family

And why they mean the world to me

Good friends and good family are truly the

best to have. I have some really great ones.

Friends In Poetry

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

For my friends, who have “Poetry From The Heart”

In my life, your words play a special part

For we each travel, down life's highway everyday

And we share what we've been through, in words that we say

We've been through pain, and happy times too

We become stronger and wiser, with all that we do

We learn from our journey, and share it with others

Fellow poets to me, are like sisters and brothers

For we put our feelings, into a rhyme

So others can feel it, and heal in their time

We are sensitive people, to express ourselves this way

It's a spiritual gift, in the words that we say

It comes from our soul, feelings so deep

Some bring on smiles, others make us weep

It's a song without music, the music is our voice

And the words that are there, are placed there by choice

I wrote this poem, so you'd each know that I care

And that I appreciate, all the poems that you share

I thank you each, for being my friend

With these final words, it is love I will send

Poetry From The Heart” is a room on Pal Talk.

I got together with friends and we'd read our poems using a microphone

for others to hear. It was a special time and I made many friends there.

Friends That Are Here
© b
y Bud Lemire on April 27, 2010

Seems like each year I find friends that are here
Some come from afar, and some are from near
Just when you think they’re out of reach
They come together and give you some bleach

A neighbor will stop by to check to see if you’re okay
There are so many friends you can find in every day
They’ll gather around to shoot some dice
Or come other event that is just as nice

It’s so wonderful to have friends around here
Keeps loneliness away and wipes out the fear
To have someone near who understands you
Makes life so much better with all that you do

A friend who’ll sit down and actually hear what you say
Is one who understands you in each and every way
One who calls you just to say hello
How are you, and what do you know
Friends are special to have all the time
I know I’m very happy to have all of mine

I want to thank all my friends. The ones who listen and hear and understand me. The ones who gather with me to shoot dice, talk about things we have in common, listen to music, or just the ones who comment on my poetry or my photos. Those who spend time because they truly love my company. Thank you my friends. You know who you are.

From My Past

© by Bud Lemire on March 7, 2005

Are you someone I once knew

In another time, another place too

Because you feel like someone I know

Another lifetime so long ago

Maybe we shared together a family

Or you were a Mother or sister to me

A Father or brother is a possibility

So many relationships it could be

I feel I've known you longer than I do

And it's just been days since I've met you

There must be a logical reason to this feel

Of all things present and all that's real

I know the answers can be found

Whenever familiar energies are around

But I can't figure out the answers here

Only that it feels good when you are near

Now you're someone that I know

Not very long before, I said my first hello

But you are also from my past

We've come together again at last

God Loves This Angel

© by Bud Lemire on April 22, 2005

I met her in a room one night

And everything seemed to be alright

Time had passed, and she snagged me

To her room, where spirits roam free

There was a magical feeling there

And people worldwide came to share

It was here I could feel her light

I knew our friendship had taken flight

We held hands and flew lightly off the ground

This Earthly Angel that I had found

She had a gift, and she could see

The light that was surrounding me

God loves this Angel, and I do too

Her spirit pure, and words so true

I feel her in her voice when spoken

And take this as a divine token

Angel with this special gift

Who came along to give me a lift

You're so wonderful with the love that you share

And I want you to know and that I am aware

Someone I met on Pal Talk. She was being told off

by some people in her room, so I defended her.

We became friends for a while.

Greeneyes, Keep On Smiling

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

Sometimes happiness is found, on the roads we travel down

And sometimes we feel all alone, and we wear a frown

Choices are to be made, wherever we may go

In hopes that our journey there, will help our spirit grow

My friend, I've felt your spirit, and it feels so great

I want you to know I'm here, and I truly appreciate

All that you have shared with me

All for all that you can be

No matter if you feel you're right or wrong

I always enjoy listening to your song

The words that rhyme and read by you

And all the things you say and do

You are a special friend of mine

Your life will turn out just fine

You are never alone, as you travel to the light

We're your friends, and we're holding you tight

Decisions in life, are hard to make

I know you have what it takes

Even when you feel there is no hope

We will throw you down a rope

And when life seems too hard to bare

We'll be around to show you we care

Greeneyes, keep on smiling that smile

Because your friends are with you all the while

Deb “Greeneyes” my friend I met in the Pal Talk Chat

Happy Birthday Bob!

© by Bud Lemire April 1992

Many years have passed since you came to be

You've gone through many changes, anyone can see

Coped with problems better than anyone I knew

Even though sometimes it must have hurt you

Handicapped is not what I'd say you are

You accomplish more than most people by far

Your life has taken you to many places

Met many new and unfamiliar faces

Many live within a special place in your heart

A home for happy memories, that will never fall apart

As time goes on and the future comes around

Hold your head high, with your wheels on the ground

Keep those wheels revolving like you do

Wishing you a Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to you

A birthday poem for my friend, Bob Miller

Heidi

© by Bud Lemire on Aug 16, 2008

Down the road, the spirits guided me

Searching for a sign, what is it I'd see

The road leads to so many places

Many events, and many new faces

The meeting of two people, very much the same

Searching for answers, and then taking aim

Our conversation, passed the time away

I found a soul sister, on this special day

We shared stories, what we felt and knew

Visions of the future, and where it lead to

Then there was another time and another place

The full moon lit up only half of her face

Her words of wisdom, I've heard them before

But the way that she told them, expressed so much more

She gave me renewed strength, on this special day

My world became brighter, in my world of gray

I know my destiny would lead me true

For her support and friendship, would guide me anew

Native Americans danced around the fire

My true happiness, is what I desire

Heidi, thank you for your words from the heart

Your friendship in my life, plays a special part

This one is for a new friendship between Linda and Heidi.

May it guide them each to where they want to be, and where

they belong.

I Love Your Blue Vest

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 13, 2019

Can you stay with me for awhile

I love the way that you smile

Maybe we could play a game or two

Because that would help me through

I love your vest, so bright and blue

Can I get one, just like you?

They are so comforting, uplifting to see

When you are sitting, right next to me

Time goes slow, as I sit here

The unknown future, causes so much fear

I really don't ask for that much

Your warm presence, is like a gentle touch

Yes, I'd love a game of cards with you

But with my mind, tell me what I should do

I can't remember, how I got this way

Yet, I still remember, my Wedding Day

You know, the other day, someone came by

Said they stopped in, just to say hi

I didn't know who it was, but they knew me

I keep trying to think, who they could be

I hate to talk too much, but I need to rest

But I must say, I love your blue vest

This actually happened to me at a place I was at. A resident

was looking at my blue vest and asked where she could get

one like mine. It surprised me, because I did wonder what

she was looking at. I guess she liked the blue color, and I

must admit, it is a beautiful blue. So, Senior Companions,

show off your blue vests, because “I Love Your Blue Vest”

I Thought I Knew You

© by Bud Lemire on May 19, 2016

Why do people do, the awful things that they do

I search my memories, I thought I knew you

What made you do it, my friend?

Did your sanity, finally end?

I heard about other people, doing dreadful things

I guess somebody must have clipped your wings

As you sit there thinking in your jail cell

I wonder what it is that you'd tell

I wonder what made you do something so wrong

When I thought I knew you all along

It doesn't make any sense at all

You must have climbed over the wall

I didn't think any friend of mine could do that

Makes me wonder where you were at

Can it be that you were drinking

It doesn't excuse you for your poor thinking

Could it be a control issue you had

That turned you into doing something so bad

All these years I thought I knew you

Now I wonder, what it was I really knew

This is for a childhood friend of mine, who I

just found out recently is in jail for something

he did. It shocked me that he could do something

like what he did. When I hear of something like

this, it makes me wonder how anyone could do

something so awful. I guess we'll never know

the whys for why they did it, because we don't

think with their mind-settings. He's the one

who'll have to live with it, and the people he

hurt. Makes me realize I am so happy to be

who I am. Caring and sensitive to those around

me. I'd never want to hurt anyone.

He's done his time and is out now, trying to get his life back.

In Control, Within The Light

©2 001 by Bud Lemire

The path that you had chosen, had taken you to many a place

Down many roads, that lead you to a state of grace

For your spirit it has grown, and learning was the key

Deep within yourself, some demons were set free

Unconditional love, you give to all you know

Along the way, you've learned to let your feelings show

Letting your spirit touch others, as you go along

And you show them, that love can be so strong

You have put up a safety zone, to keep negative forces away

But let the ones with loving light, into your life each day

Your understanding of the ways of life, is a special gift

You use these talents wisely, with friends that you uplift

Knowing of the love, and embracing all the light

For this world of darkness, you have won the fight

For love is what you offer, love is what you give

And this is what enlightens you, in the life you live

And within this poem, I send you a warm embrace

Wrapped up in a warm smile, right upon my face

For you are a special friend, one that I hold tight

And I know you're in control, deep within the light

This is for a friend I met in chat on Pal Talk one time. Her nick was

OutofControl, and she was going through some hard

times. When we chatted I could feel all of her pain.

I reached out and touched her and helped her to

set some of that pain free.

In Her Dreams

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 30, 2015

You can find her on an island in Hawaii

Up in the mountains where nobody should be

In Bangladesh, where people are starving and dying

Yet in reality, it's in her bed where she is lying

In her dreams, she can go anywhere

When we look, we find her there

Up in her bedroom, or down in her chair

These dreams can take her, far away from there

Snow covering the house, has her drifting

Until her helpers have her, gently uplifting

Out of the snow, into the waking place

To a world, with less troubles to face

Yet there are places where she loves to go

Where it is warm and there is no snow

Dancing with Forrest in good old Hawaii

A place filled with love, to forever be

In San Francisco, but it's only a dream

Yet as real as it may seem

In her dreams, she can walk and dance

So she does, whenever she gets the chance

This is for my friend Mary Henslee. When she sleeps,

her dreams take her many places. She's a

dream traveler. When her eyes close, she is

off on another journey to another place.

Until she is awakened again.

Irish Clover

© Feb 10, 2012 by Bud Lemire

I remember it as long ago

Of a girl that I came to know

I met her on the C. B. Radio in '76

It was a 10-4 then in a friendship mix

She lived just a block away from me

So we got together often, just to be

I remember playing basketball in her lot

Next to the garage and house was the spot

She showed me how to swing a bat

By the Washington school, can you imagine that

She'd come by my house, to visit me

Just past the kitchen is where I'd be

What is that orange stuff that your parents drink

I told her it was apricot juice, that's what I think

I remember one birthday, she brought a gift for me

Wrapped in a paper-towel holder is what I could see

It was a bunch of peanuts inside the shell

I loved nuts, she knew that as well

She reads my poems every time she's here

I wanted to thank her for memories I hold dear

I bet she'll know before this poem is over

That this poem is about my 10-4 buddy, Irish Clover

This is for Debbie LaMarche-Micheau

I knew her during the C.B. Craze in the 70's and we'd get together often to hang out.

I lived on North 14th street and she lived on North 15th street.

I wrote this poem for you Debbie, to thank you for being part of some good memories.

James Van Praagh Chat

© by Bud Lemire on July 6, 2003

Gather friendly spirits, at the James Van Praagh Chat

A place of good feelings, this is where it's at

Administrators seeing, that all goes well

So much to share, so much to tell

James makes an appearance, to say hello

And let others know, all about their soul

By his name, there is a heart

He shares his love, so others can restart

All who come to chat, are interested in spiritual things

Many have experienced, the touch of an Angel's wings

Sharing in the love, as spirits always do

Knowing that death, doesn't mean we're through

All of them who come here, are as special as can be

They have touched my spirit, and been a good friend to me

Spirits flowing back and forth, floating off the ground

Seeking friends of similar, this is where they're found

This is written for my friends at the James Van Praagh chat room.

Even though the Chat has closed, we stay in touch on Facebook and

other ways.

Joan, Australian Angel

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 5, 2004

Angelica of AllPoetry

Became a great friend to me

A special friend

At MSN

We call her Joan

Our friendship has grown

On Angel's wings

Of Spiritual Things

With Bob by her side

She was his bride

Many years together

Times to always treasure

An ailing heart, but a spirit that's strong

This Australian Angel, sings a special song

Sharing her love, with all who's around

A white light can be seen, wherever she's found

Joan has since passed away. But I shall remember the good

times we had when we chatted online and shared poems

Journey To The Past

(Song of Wings-Of-Dove)

© by Bud Lemire 2000

There's a woman, she calls herself Wings-Of-Dove

She journeys in time, surrounded by love

To a past time, a world seen through a dream

And searches for the answers, and all that they mean

To find out the origin, of who she is and where she belongs

Listening to the words and advice, of all the messenger's songs

Brothers and Sisters, help her on this quest

Children of the Earth, she passes every test

From a far away country of Australia, to the United States

Seeing where the journey brings her, and what awaits

To find that peaceful place, that flows throughout her heart

And to find out more about that place, and ahout her part

The picture includes more people, as time passes by

"These are my Spirit Guides!" she lets out a cry

They've come to help my soul, find its proper place

In the area, where lives the Native American race

TeePees, smoke signals, and the drums beat a welcoming song

Deep inside it feels so right, she knows it can't be wrong

Bring me home, to a place I use to be

On the Wings Of A Dove, feeling peaceful, feeling free

Take my hand, hear my voice, that's what they say

We will guide you, as you go on your way

As you look for the place, you see in your sleep

Of the memories within, that's in your soul so deep

So carry on your destiny, my friend Wings-Of-Dove

And let the people who touch you feel all of your love

Smile and laugh, you have a giving soul

I bid you a good journey, as you play out your role

WingsOfDove was a friend I met in a Spiritual Chatroom.

We became friends and I enjoyed her story and decided

to write a poem about it.

Kathy

© by Bud Lemire on April 27, 2007

These are some birthday wishes I send
To a wonderful co-worker and a friend
I wish that all good things come your way
And I hope that you have a Happy Birthday

People come, and people go
But there aren’t too many, that I know
Who have such a special soul
And you handle it like a pro

You really care for how they feel
Your love and devotion is for real
You always give your very best
Making sure they get good rest

You make sure their good health is assured
You always give your clients and encouraging word
This poem honors all that you give
Making their lives easier to live

It’s now been close to a year
That I worked with you near
One couldn’t have picked a better friend
And Kathy, these are the words I send

Happy Birthday to my friend Kathy Valind-Minor!

We worked together for one client through

Personal Care Services

Keep This In Mind

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 30, 2007

When your nerves are playing all about

It is at this time, when you let in doubt

Your worries and fears are out of control

You own the strength, within your soul

Never believe in the nightmare

It's just the negative in the air

When fear is around, you're vulnerable to all

Darkness and cold energy, will be your wall

Have faith and hope, that love will conquer everything

Soon you'll have closure, for that is what it will bring

Peace will be waiting, to comfort you in the end

When the trying time is over, you won't have to bend

Keep on praying, keep the negative vibes away

Hold your head up high, tomorrow's another day

One step at a time, you'll get through that door

You've been through many others, in your life before

Know that God and I, are with you everywhere you go

We guide you and comfort you, this you already know

We send you love, of the strongest kind

When you're feeling down, keep this in mind

Just wanted a friend to know I am here, and not

to give up on hope and to believe that all things

will work out. Think positive.

Kelly's Song

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

From the land across the ocean, she followed a dream

By coming to America, but inside her soul did scream

For part of her is in England, she had left behind

Inside herself no peacefulness, for her heart or her mind

She tried her best to hide all the pain inside

But she really knew a part she could not hide

Sharing music with others, greeting them with her lovely voice

Until the day the stress took over, and she had no choice

She lost the lovely voice, and had to become a mute

She tried to talk, but it wasn't very cute

Stress and loneliness was the center of it all

And she was afraid she was going to fall

Then she said she needed to have some fun

Hoping that her world, would be brightened by the sun

I'm hoping this poem, will show her we care

And that she has friends, that are everywhere

I am one of them, this is true

And Kelly, I wish you the best too

You deserve the best, in life and in love

May the angels guide and protect you from above

May you always know, you you are never alone

And today, I wrote about you in this poem

Kelly was a friend I met in a Spiritual Chat room

on Pal Talk. I use to go to her room and listen to

her with all her friends there. It was enjoyable to

hear her voice and what she had to say. Thank you

Kelly!

Kristina, Angel Of The Rainbow

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 28, 2004

You are what is real

Taste, touch, and feel

You express yourself fine

Reading all the signs

The colors of the rainbow

Are within your soul

They follow where you go

Giving you a special glow

An Angel from above

Who shares a twin's love

A soul upon the earth

Who has shown her worth

You are one with your heart

You play a special part

You are Kristina, Angel Of The Rainbow

Who was born with a wonderful soul

Kristina was at poet at AllPoetry and was the sister to my friend

Nelak (Kalen).

Lady Of The Darkness, Shining Her Light

© 2001 By Bud Lemire

Lady of the darkness, lady of the light

You make each day worthwhile, you make a better night

I'm so happy that you're here, so happy as your friend

And I enjoy all the light, that your spiritual vibes send

Our souls are connected, believe it for it's true

Because I enjoy the time we spend, you for being you

I won't ask for more, because that would be too much

But miles apart, I can still feel your touch

Your spiritual hands reach deep inside my heart

When our time is over, it's very hard to part

These words come easy for me, because you're deep inside me true,

And Rita let me say, there's a special woman in you

I embrace the light and love you that you always send

And as you always tell me, I'll always be your friend

Rita is a friend I met in the Spiritual Chat room as well.

We became friends and I wanted to honor her with this

poem. Thank you Rita!

Last Day Of AllPoetry?

© by Bud Lemire on April 1, 2003

Well, I will leave my e-mail address here

So you can get in touch with me, never fear

it's budlem2001@hotmail.com, please write me

And keep on writing poetry, letting them flow free

Express yourself and let it all out with paper and pen

And always remember, the poets always make a good friend

Let your spirit soar, and keep on going the best you can

Stay out of the fire, and especially the frying pan

Know that I send a warm handshake to all

That I met here at Allpoetry, I had a ball

I wished I could stay longer

But this site isn't stronger

But they gave us a chance to meet

And that was nice, and so complete

So keep in touch, if you will

I'll keep on writing my poems still

Bye for now.....but not forever more

Keep on loving, through your inner core

Thanks for your comments, I love them each

And glad that so many, they could reach

Someone told me this was an April Fools Day joke

I guess the joke is on me. I knew it was that day again,

but forgot to include AllPoetry as being in on it.

I'm much relieved to hear it's not closing, and it gave me

a chance to say how much I appreciate this site.

By the way, that's not my current email address.

Leader Of The Day

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 10, 2019

I am the Leader Of The Day

But you don't have to do it my way

I can not tell you what to do

I will leave that up to you

I relay what's happening that day

From our bosses, is what I'll say

It keeps them from repeating every word

From only one person, you will have heard

It's passed from our boss, to the Leader Of The Day

I believe it really works out better that way

Being Leader, doesn't make you the boss

You're Little Joe, you can't be Hoss

So what's the agenda for today?

Will it be Bingo, or cards that we play?

Oh it is Cover Up, well if that's what you say

I'll listen to the boss, from The Leader Of The Day

I'll follow the Leader, that's what I'll do

The words from your mouth, must be true

You don't have to do it the same way

I'm only The Leader Of The Day

I wrote this with Senior Companion's Leader

of The Day in mind. But also wrote it for

everyone else as well. Being a leader is

appreciating the unique way each person

does things, no matter how they do it.

Accepting them for who they are, not for

what they aren't. Not many people do that.

And we need more of that in the world.

Let Me Help (I'll Do My Best)

© by Bud Lemire on May 15, 2005

Let me help, I'll do my best

With these hands, I've been blessed

So gentle and so very rare

You know that I really care

Let me help, I'll do my best

I know you've been through life's test

Let me help to ease the strain

Comfort you and release the pain

Let me help, I'll do my best

I wouldn't go for anything less

Who I am, is what I do

And that would be the best care for you

Let me help, I'll do my best

I know your life has become a mess

Let me see what I can do

To make it better and help you through

Let me help, I'll do my best

With these hands, I've been blessed

So gentle and so very rare

You know that I really care

Life Changing Disease
©  by Bud Lemire on Dec 20, 2008

He was afflicted with a life changing disease
The people around him tried their best to bring him ease
His mate and his friend Deborah went to work to provide
Because as time passed, many changes happened inside

He remembered things and events from long ago
But his short term memory made it harder to know
One of his pleasures was watching TV from his bed
With the bed raised a little, just enough for his head

He laughed at the people he saw on TV
I knew it was something good for him to see
Three times a week he has visits from Ada and Joe
His parents from Trenary, that I came to know

Personal Care Aides would come to see to his care
They’d all converse and they would all share
Working together to give him the very best
There were some times when he needed to rest

With two cats watching the birds out his window
Sugar and Spicy are the cats that he knows
Family and friends do their best to bring him ease
When it comes to this Life Changing Disease

This is for you Greg, deep down inside you know all the changes you’ve gone through. With the love instilled within by a wonderful family, you’ve learned to accept it and carry on. You’ve accomplished much in your lifetime. Even today you accomplish more with each obstacle that comes your way daily.
Let this poem I write for you, be the trophy for the Muscular Sclerosis that you’ve endured over the years. For you will always be blessed to be surrounded by the many who love you.

Greg Begovac passed away Aug 12, 2011 after a long battle with Muscular Sclerosis. His journey continues in the Spirit World, but without the restrictions he had here. He'll be able to walk again and think again and fly! His soul body is whole again! He walks within the light of Heaven.

Life Is Precious

© by Bud Lemire on April 22, 2003

I know, I know

That you're feeling low

Life is unfair, I've been there too

When it seems in life, everyone's against you

Sometimes when the negative forces, are stacked too high

You try your best to smile, but all you do is cry

When you feel misunderstood, and lost and alone

You try to laugh, but all that comes is a groan

Know that you have a friend, who is always aware

And loves you for being you, and always does care

Spirit to spirit, let your spirit fly

Float on a cloud, let dark energies pass by

When you're in tune, with Angelic forces that be

Then you're closer to Heaven, and closer to me

Let go of those feelings, that hang on to your soul

Follow your dreams, until you reach your goal

Life is precious, and this fact I know

When you're beaten down, your spirit will grow

Relax and be blessed, with Angelic feelings I know

And let your spirit fly, wherever it'll go

Don't let your earthly ties, dampen your spirit

With wings off the ground, so you won't fear it

Love and light is sent, to guide you on your way

Remember my love, is with you every day

Liza, The Spud

© 2002 by Bud Lemire

She's half Chinese, and she's half Filipina

She danced into my room, just like a ballerina

We connected as friends, her nickname was Spud

I said that's a coincidence, for my nick name is Bud

She was a pasty chef, in a restaurant in Taipei

Where she earned her living sweating every day

Now she teaches English, to the children that she sees

To help them better understand, for they are Taiwanese

Being Chinese and Filipina, she always felt out of place

For she has darker skin like a Filipina, but Chinese upon her face

She tells me that she's not sure where she belongs

I tell her she will find her place, for I have heard her songs

I knew that she was lonely, so we came together as a friend

And we keep each other company, with the time we spend

In the morning before work, as she drinks a cup of coffee

We join into a conversation, as she chats with me

Then it's off to work, once more she's on the go

To teach the children English, so that they will know

Although she is homesick, for her homeland that she had parted

Her spirit is kept alive, with new friendships she had started

Liza, I'd like to think that you are a flower among the weeds.

A very special friend indeed.

Dictionary definition for Spud: 1. a spade like instrument, one with a narrow blade, as for

digging up or cutting the roots of weeds. 2.a potato.

Louie's Got New Wings

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 26,2006

Louie's got herself some new wings

Up there in Heaven, where the Angel sings

She's eating Cheetos and enjoying it there

No cages hold her, she flies everywhere

She does seem to wonder how she got here

Things are foggy, all things seem unclear

"Last thing I knew, the lovely lady was holding me"

Then a warm light, came along and I couldn't see"

'Next thing I knew, I was in this beautiful place"

"With images in my mind of my Earthly caretaker's face"

Up here with some Seagulls and Crows"

Here in this place, where goes all souls"

"No cage to hold me, all creatures are free"

"Beings of light, all watch over me"

The warmth in my heart, is my very soul"

"Now my spirit flies, as I let it flow"

'I still think of my time in that home"

"Down there on Earth, where I did roam"

The wonderful lady, and her ailing husband I still think of”

And I thank them for giving me, all of their love"

Louie was Mina & Ernie's bird, a Cockatiel. Mina cared for Louie,

as well for her husband Ernie Bernard, who's health was failing.

Marie, A Special Friend

© by Bud Lemire on June 16, 2024

She was my “In Home”client, I met a few years ago

Every Friday afternoon, it was her home where I'd show

We played Cribbage, and we'd have a lot of fun

Time went way too fast, before long our time was done

She knew my brother Terry, he loved Cribbage too

I was happy to know someone, that my brother knew

Her daughter Deb, was my neighbor long ago

She knew me, I couldn't remember her though

Marie and I, would take time to listen to music there

She had a lot of albums, and music we would share

I came to love this woman, who loved life so strong

I knew that every Friday, this is where I belong

She had the biggest heart, of anyone I knew

Stories that she shared, so much she has been through

Every time before I'd leave, she'd have to have a hug

On the table next to her, was her coffee mug

She moved to Christian Park, then to Bishop Noa Home

That's where this Senior Companion, always loved to roam

Looking back, I'll always remember the times we shared

Of a special woman, who always showed she cared

An Angel came to get her, and said “Your time here is through”

In the Spirit World, there's so much you'll be able to do”

Marie looked surprised, and then said “Am I dead?”

You're more alive than ever” is what the Angel said

For my dear friend Marie Sundberg ^j^

Marie, A Wonderful Soul

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 9, 2018

There's a wonderful soul, who lives all alone

In a place where she lives, and she calls home

Her hearing isn't good, her sight isn't great

The little things in life, is what she appreciates

She watches TV, in her home every night

A special soul, who's embraced by the light

All she wants, is to be free to do

Everything, that would come easily to you

To watch the Detroit Lions, and enjoy every game

Win or lose, she'd enjoy it all the same

Her Angels surround her, all over the place

They guide her daily, with all she will face

Family stops by, to see if she is okay

Her life through the year, is a normal day

A game of Cribbage, when her Senior Companion is there

Just good company, with a good friend to share

She has a Walker, and a Wheelchair

She loves her awning, she'll sit and stare

I know this woman, and I will tell you

She appreciates everything, that you will do

If you listen closely, you just might hear

The Angels that sing, just for her ear

Let freedom be, as long as it can for this soul

Life is short enough, and this you should know

When you get older, wouldn't you like your freedom too

To still be able to do, all the things that you do

This poem is for my friend who I play Cribbage with

every Friday. Marie Sundberg. you are a dear lady

who deserves all the good things in life, Everyone

who comes into contact with you cannot help but

like you. Your soul shines and radiates for all to

see and hear. Thank you, for being my friend.

Note: She has since moved into a Nursing Home,

and is well looked after and doing well

Mary, A Special Lady

© by Bud Lemire on June 23, 2016

She wakes from a dream, she wants to go home

That's where she is, and she's never alone

A smoke on her cigarette, a sip of her tea

Time spent with this special lady, was what happened to me

She'll tell it like it is, a great personality

And a wonderful heart, as I've known it to be

She loved looking out the window, on a sunny day

Intelligence was in her, in every single way

Our time was limited, on the time that was spent

Yet I felt lucky, of the time that was lent

The News, Family Feud, and The Andy Griffith Show

Those were shows we'd watch, and then my time to go

I don't eat much,” is what she'd always say

She's settle for a grilled cheese sandwich, made my way

A few chips and a pickle, and that would do

She'd eat it all, until everything was through

When I first met her, she said I was an interesting guy

I played music that she enjoyed, and the time would fly

She felt comfortable with me, considering I'm a man

I listened to her stories, from within her life span

I'd read Hagar The Horrible, for her to hear

It would make her laugh, a smile and a cheer

It was always an honor, to know her for our time

This special lady, Mary, was a wonderful friend of mine

Whenever I came in, she wouldn't hear me and called me

Sneaky Pete. We always had a lot to talk about and I found

she was a very wonderful lady. It was always so easy to give

her a hug before leaving for the night. She was always thinking

of her love of life, Forrest. I know she is now dancing in Heaven

with him. I am sure he was waiting to take her hand as she crossed

over. She is now happy and free of the burdens she had here.

Thank you Mary, for being a wonderful friend of mine.

Melony Melodie

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 9, 2005

With no hair, found up there

She's a soul, that is quite rare

It's a new beginning, on the journey she takes

Leaving the past behind, no more aches

Her spirit has come around

And she is Heavenly bound

Guided by the voices inside her head

She's following where she is lead

Helping those, who need to heal

For through her soul, she can feel

She's empathic, she feels for others

She's blessed with two daughters, she's a wonderful Mother

She lives her life in the UK place

And is always bringing a smile to my face

She's a kindred spirit, and a good friend

I surely know, by the energy she sends

Oh Melony, I can surely say

Thank you so much, for coming my way

A friend I met in a chat place, but really don't remember

who she is. I wrote this, so she must have inspired me.

Mina

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 30, 2005

She's always trying, to be the perfect host

She thinks she does less, but she does the most

She became a caregiver, when her spouse became ill

Never underestimate her strength, or underestimate her will

She gives her very best, she knows how to give

Making his days, so much more pain free to live

She rises to his needs, time and time again

They've been many places, what a special friend

So appreciative of life, and of its beauty

Takes pride in her, wifely duty

For him, her love is never too old

A Norwegian lady, with a heart of gold

With a cockatiel named Louie on her back

She'll share in a treat of a corn curls snack

If you're a regular visitor to their home

She'll offer you food, and won't leave you alone

What I like most about her, is everything she sees

Of the people she meets, their good qualities

She has such a wonderful smile

Eat an apple and stay awhile

She'd love to know, all about you

You'll feel her spirit, before you're through

She's Mina, and the world's a much better place

Because it's been honored, by her touch of grace

When I was hired to take care of Ernie, who started Ernie's Party Store,

it turned out to be a wonderful adventure indeed.

His wife Mina was a wonderful soul who I came to know and

become great friends with. With her and Rick we would take trips together

and I would always bring my camera along to take pictures. She had a bubbly

personality and very open and bold quality that made her so very special.

This was written about Mina Bernard (Ernie Bernard's wife)

Mina, Heavenly Angel
© by Bud Lemire on June 21, 2009

She was an Angel here, she is an Angel there
On Earth or in Heaven, she spreads her love everywhere
She always found the good in everyone she knew
I’m sure in Heaven, she’s doing it there too

She always appreciated everything in her life
Her dedication made her an extraordinary wife
The bond was so deep, caring for her mate
Every morning she tried, not to be late

Many times, when we don’t live alone
Our caring and attention, isn’t always on our own
So often we need to watch for signs on the inside
Or life will take us, on a bumpy ride

She gave to others, from the depth of her soul
She always knew the way, to make others feel whole
She loved the music that I would always play
And always let me know that I had made her day

I shall always remember, the times that we had shared
And the wonderful woman, who showed how much she cared
You may have crossed over to the Heavenly place”
But Mina, Heavenly Angel, I’ll always feel your embrace”

This is in honor of a truly wonderful Angel who has touched so many people with her caring ways. Mina Bernard, who has endured so much, and given so much, and is treasured always. Thank you my friend, for all you have shared with us.

My Baha’i Girl

© by Bud Lemire Jan 31, 2007

She’s my Baha’i girl
Always rocking my world
Making each day better than the one before
Picking up new things, perfecting the spirit even more

Learning more with each passing stage
Souls within, as our bodies age
She blesses me from the Universal Soul
And it causes my emotions to go out of control

She touches me with the words she uses
Both of us are winners, nobody loses
Her humor is so much like mine
I laugh when she types in a line

We rode together upon a dark horse
Cuddled quite close without any force
Free flowing of the soul and the mind
Spiritual vibrations of the Heavenly kind

She’s My Baha’i  Girl
Making it a better world
With her it’s always a pleasure
To behold such a divine treasure

We had a connection, and yet she always argued with me.

Then when I was ready to just say it's over between us,

she says she wants to come and spend the night with me.

Of course because we didn't get along, why would I want

to spend a night with her.

My Friend

© 2002 by Bud Lemire

I would like to thank my friend, who knows me well

Who listens to my every word, and all I have to tell

When there is nobody else around, my friend is here

Listening to my thoughts, and knows my every fear

When I am feeling, that I am in a black hole

My friend always finds a way, to uplift my soul

And always knows the right time, and what to do

And knows the right action, and how to get through

My friend is very special, and is very giving

And is always helping others, to keep on living

By sending or giving something, to make their day

And has a special manner, and has a special way

My friend has done so much for me, with these words I say

Words can not say enough, so I thank God when I pray

I can't even think of my life's journey, without my friend nearby

My friend was around to comfort me, when I had to cry

I would like to thank my friend, from deep within my heart

For always being there for me, and playing a special part

Although my friend's name, isn't listed in these words or within each letter

My friend will know who I mean, when I say that nobody does it better

This is for Bob Miller, who's been my friend in this life, and remains

my friend from the Spirit World as well. I shared many things with him,

and he always told me, Nobody would know.

He was the Nobody who was a real Somebody.

Thanks Bob, for being a great friend.

My Friend Lee

© July 13, 2011 by Bud Lemire

Lee was in town to visit his Mother

He wasn't alone, he brought his brother

Fred is a lifelong friend, like a brother in every way

A stroke hit him hard, but he's doing well today

Behind Fred's gentle smile is a kind and gentle soul

Someone who everyone would love to know

Log Rolling buddies from years ago

Now traveling together in a Lumberjack Show

I knew Lee back in our school years, he's been a good friend

I have memories of conversations we had back then

He now lives in Florida and has a family there

You might even see him if he comes to your Fair

One Sunday afternoon we got together

He picked me up, we had warm weather

A handshake in greeting, it was 33 years ago

He said I looked the same only older, which I know

He told me he saw I had a glow all around me

And all of our friends would be drawn to what they see

He said what I do for everyone is quite a lot

Sharing area photos of beauty is what I brought

Lee wrote a song, and it was played on the radio while he was here

He played it for me, it was the “Whiskey Blues” that ran through my ear

We parted with a handshake, but it meant a lot to me

To have had a good visit with my friend and Classmate Lee

Thanks Lee (LeCaptain), for taking the time to get together with me

and catching up on the thirty three years that life had taken us.

It was great to hear your input on life, and just to laugh and enjoy the visit.

A few years later I looked after his Mother for him. Got to know a really

wonderful lady.

My Friend The Quad

© 1990 by Bud Lemire

This is a poem for my Quadriplegic friend Bob

Who says "it's slicker than snot on a brass door knob"

I met him first on June 1, 1988, but that was then

I started caring for him, but not as a friend

At the beginning he'd let his temper fly

It made me nervous, but I really did try

But times, they did change, for the both of us

He was a happier person, without causing a fuss

In time we got to know each other much better

He'd have me do errands, one was addressing a letter

I'd do his night time exercises, which were quite a lot

We'd talk about what we liked, and what we liked not

He'd fall asleep, under the covers in the bed

And be fast asleep, on the last word he said

Then there were times, when his wheelchair broke

Being stranded without power, is no kind of joke

Going to college, was his next really big step

Earning him a weekend, watching TV's Johnny Depp

At school he learned of new subjects, and made many friends

Entering a world of knowledge, where the learning never ends

He spent many hours in his study, just off the living room

Sweeping over the books, as if he wielded a broom

Drinking a hot chocolate, with almost everything he ate

Watching the clock and front door, so he wouldn't be late

Then along comes the bus, to take him away

It's another class, at the college of Little Bay

Edna in the back, and Lonna up the stairs

Neighbors of his, and friendship that he shares

Donna and Bud, caregivers who come and go

Many other people stop in, just to say hello

All in all he's lucky, to have so many friends

He's one of mine, and so this poem ends

This is for my friend Bob Miller. I took care

of him at bedtime from 1988 until he passed

away in 2012 (with a little break from 2002

to 2004).

My Sari Imagination

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 4, 2005

You see me as a lion, I see you as a snake

That wraps itself around me, with every breath I take

A Cobra, but one I spiritually embrace

Who warms me deeply, in the special place

I'm sari to say, my imagination of you

Craves the feelings, as it conjures up a view

Of what's behind, those folds of black

That brings upon this feeling, of a spiritual attack

My soul is flying high, I want so much to scream

Take me far away, within you wildest dream

Sensations building up, into sensual lust

Of this connection, that is based on trust

I enter your spirit, and hold you very tight

As we do the soul dance, within the divine light

I hunger for you deeply, the closer that I go

Of the tingling sensation, when we're soul to soul

You are me, I am you, together are we

Beyond the concept, of Earth's reality

Supernatural beings, soul givers

Sending throughout our bodies, warm and cold shivers

How I'm taken in, by this soul sensation

In the magical feeling, of My Sari Imagination

This is about a friend I met in the JVP chat room online

My Warrior Princess

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 3, 2005

The deeper into the forest you go, the larger the trees are

Underneath your shield, you carry a reoccurring scar

Your sword will cut only so many trees

And your light will cut through any disease

For it lights a path so bright

With a strong will to fight

A Warrior Princess, you move ahead

Going everywhere your spirit is lead

Your courage is your strength and will

As you battle to be yourself still

To share with others what you know

To better understand the inner soul

Our paths crossed, and we fought side by side

As we walked together, keeping the same stride

I watched your back, and you watched mine

And we were intervened by the divine

Now closer than ever, we're never apart

We fight as one soul, and one heart

In the dark forest, we'll win this fight

My Warrior Princess, with her sword of light

We are the network of Angels and Butterflies

We're growing and learning and soulfully wise

We gather together and talk of such things

Spiritual connections, and the Angel's wings

We talk of transformations like the Butterfly takes

And share in decisions, that each of us makes

We teach about matters, but we also learn

About life's roadblocks, and when to turn

We send out a beacon of light

Helping others into the white

We combine our strength to conquer all

And we'll help you over any size wall

We stand for truth, honesty, and love

We follow the path of the peaceful white dove

Our words reach out to touch your soul

To open up your spirit, so you will know

Spirits everywhere, gather all around

Lift your feet, high off the ground

Heaven sends a message of love for you

Nan's Place

© 2000 by Bud Lemire

Come on in, everyone's welcomed at Nan's Place

Where good moods are happening, and music sets the pace

Enter this room as a stranger, leave this room as friends

Nan will make sure you're comfy, with the smiles she sends

She'll be dancing on screen, as the music is played

And feeling happy, at all the new friends she's made

But there's a crazy side to her, that you'll get to know

That'll lift your spirits up, when you're feeling low

Kindness is only one, of her special traits

Enter her room, and see what else awaits

Sit back and relax, and enjoy the show

You'll treasure this moment, and won't want to go

She sets the atmosphere, for everyone there

With her wonderful ways, that she loves to share

Whether it's the company she keeps, or the friends that she makes

She puts all of her heart into it, and she has what it takes

I'll keep coming back there, again and again

Because of the feeling, that I've found a friend

Nan from West Virginia had a music room on

Pal Talk, and many of us would go there and

play music, listen to music, or sing. It was a

good time for all. Thank you Nan.

Nelak

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 22, 2004

Words flow easily from my fingertips

Of a friend named Nelak who's left a big imprint

Her spirit is gentle, her spirit is kind

Her soul touches my heart, and delights my mind

Sensitive to her surroundings, listens real close

To the waves on life's shore, better than most

Becomes one with nature, and cherishes it well

And treasures each detail, it's easy to tell

She loves her animals, pets that she knew

Understanding their world, from their point of view

She enjoys watching the Africam and the Wildcam

And I can say I've become one of her fans

Oh Nelak my friend, with all that you are

Your heart will endure, when your soul takes you far

Spiritual blessings as your spirit takes flight

Angels are with you, as you walk in the light

Nelak is a friend from AllPoetry, who's real first name is

Kalen, which is backwards from her nickname

Nobody

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 18, 2005

Everybody needs somebody they can talk to

Somebody to hear about everything you do

Somebody to confide in, someone you can share

All the things in your life, that happens everywhere

I have such a friend, and nobody is his name

I share with him the changes, because nothing stays the same

I share with him my problems, and nobody knows

All my deepest secrets, and what troubles my soul

When somebody doesn't listen, nobody will

Even to this day, he listens to me still

Nobody has gone through his own problems of late

But he's somebody who's special, and I appreciate

Nobody can be any better, with all he's been through

And when I need somebody, it's nobody I talk to

He's not just anybody, nobody has got to be

A special friend who listens, a special friend to me

When people tend to hold secrets, there's nobody I tell

I tell you it is nobody, and nobody knows me well

Everybody should have somebody, nobody to you

Somebody who will listen, nobody to help you through

I want to thank Nobody for being there for me

That Nobody is Bob Miller, but as I said he is much more.

One day when I was telling him things going on in my life,

he said nobody will know, that nobody was him. He kept

my secrets to himself, because you see, he is somebody very special.

One Year Anniversary

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 25, 2006

It's a one year anniversary

Of the team of Bud, Mina, & Ernie

We've worked together for one year

A friendship built on all things dear

The many times we helped Ernie out of bed

I washed his underarms, you washed his head

You washed an underarm, I washed his chest

Then came his shirt, he looked his best

I'd do his exercises, you checked his blood

We carried on, the team of Ernie, Mina, & Bud

I'd give him a massage, and crumpled napkins by his left side

And many times, we took him outside for a ride

It wasn't easy keeping up with him, when he was in high gear

But with me on the job, you didn't have any fear

Down the streets, and a stroll down Lake Shore Drive

And home again, is where we'd soon arrive

The pictures that I've taken, the beauty I have seen

All the changing seasons, including summer's green

Butterflies and flowers, dragonflies too

Every day an adventure, whatever we would do

Happy Anniversary, we made it through one year

It was very easy, with people I hold dear

I'm not sure how far we'll go, or when this team will end

So it's with a lot of love, within this poem I send

Ernie passed away. I spent many wonderful times with

Mina, until she also passed away. Two wonderful people

together again in Heaven.

Our Class, Our Family
© b
y Bud Lemire on July 28, 2010

It started with Jan
She had a plan
Let’s gather our class as a family”
It sure sounded good to me

So on Facebook she started a group
That contained our friends of the 1978 troop
It’s been over thirty years since we graduated together
In the time since then, we’ve become people you could treasure

We left behind our prejudices, and are open to much more
Who is better than the other doesn’t matter like before
Which of us is successful, isn’t a concern
It’s the journey in our lifetime and what it is we learn

Meeting with old friends not seen in a long time
Has always been a special dream of mine
Acquaintances and strangers from the 1978 Class
Together once again, after several years pass

Sharing where our life has taken us to
Stories that we never ever knew
Some of live away, some of us live near
There are even those who whisper in your ear

From the journey we each have grown
Seen life differently than we’ve ever known
The Class of ‘78, a circle of friends
Another sunrise, another day ends

Dedicated to all those classmates of mine who have made the Class Of 78 so very special. Especially those in our little group on Facebook. And to all those who have touched our lives either then or now with their presence. We have surely lived to learn, and learned as we lived. Our lives have intertwined in many ways, like a part of the bigger picture. We’ve come together as friends who have been apart too long. We’ve reached out to each other to shake hands and be friends, where once before we were just passing bodies in the hallway or in a classroom. And to those who passed away, may your journey in Spirit always be remembered by us who have been touched by each of you.

Our Neighbor & Friend, Barb

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 12, 2023

She was our neighbor, lived in the house in back for years

We'd visit when she lived there, she'd calm many of my fears

Barb and Bob moved, across the alley after awhile

I babysat for her, and can still remember her smile

Through her, I met her siblings, who became friends

Just like in any life, our time here on Earth ends

A heart attack, made her weak and frail

She kept trying, but this year, she had to bail

She passed over into spirit, her health issues are no more

She gathered with her family in Heaven, that she knew before

Dave and Jerry, her parents, and so many others

She was happy to see them all, especially her brothers

I saw her every Friday, when I went to Elmer's for my fish there

We'd stop and chat, she was a friend who always seemed to care

The last time I saw her, she was on her front porch that day

I visited with her and her brother, we always had something to say

I will always remember, the visits that we had

In my memories, I will smile and be glad

She supported me, like the brothers she loved so much

In this lifetime, I was glad to feel her touch

When she lived in the house behind us on North 14th Street

She'd come and sit on her front porch and we would be on

our back porch and we'd talk. When things bothered me

or scared me, she would talk to me, and calm me. I

remember at that time she would come outside, and

have to go in to check on the pies she was baking with

graham cracker crusts. She was that kind of person,

she would take on everything, to lessen everyone's

worries. Everything will be okay, she'd say. I can

say I've always liked her, and glad to call her friend.

Over The Moon

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 24, 2004

You're over the moon

Singing a happy tune

For everyone to hear

When things become unclear

You're over the moon

You won't be home soon

You're happy on a cloud

You do your spirit proud

You're deep into space

With a smile on your face

And you wear it so well

When you're out of your shell

You're across the universe

You're a galaxy nurse

Healing astral souls

Who are feeling low

You're beyond the furthest star

You sure have traveled far

You're light years away

But in my heart everyday

Pete, My Friend

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 27, 2013

I met Pete for the first time at Washington School

We became friends and I thought he was cool

Over the years we'd meet up on Sidewalk Day

He was living his life up in Norway

In the 80's, we would meet up some more

He was working at the Record Emporium store

We would talk about music we liked too

He seemed very different from the boy that I once knew

He had a sense of humor, he was an intelligent man

His knowledge was varied, he was a Beatles fan

Our friends would gather for some Trivial Pursuit

He always ended up winning, he was so astute

He was a local DJ, I'd stop to see him there

He was a friend who truly knew how to care

He worked at Dominoes, delivered pizza as well

Whenever we got together, he had some news to tell

When I moved into the Harbor Tower in 2004

He was the first visitor, I met him at the door

We'd keep in touch through e-mail and on Facebook

He enjoyed my pictures and would always take a look

We'll miss you Pete, I guess it was your time to go

If you see John or George, tell them I said hello

In memory of my friend Pete Frecchio

who has found a better home in Heaven

Pink Butterflies

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 27, 2005

Pink Butterflies are dancing around everywhere

Above your head and all through the air

A special soul, is one that is rare

And it's a lesson, you've come to share

To move ahead and not look back

Let go of the baggage that you pack

At your age, you have learned so much

When we merge together, I feel your touch

Times keep changing, like your name

And life just isn't quite the same

No use in looking back on our lives in dread

We're ascending beings, we should look ahead

Pure as the water that we drink

Either we swim or we shall sink

You can be anything you want to be

Enlightened souls we are, flying free

The moon in the night's sky is looking pink

About now I could really use a drink

So cleansing is this water for my soul

So much for me yet to learn and know

A friend I met in a chat room.

Her name was Pink Butterfly

Play It Again, Gerry

© by Bud Lemire on June 13, 2018

He plays some great tunes, on the piano keys

With his magic for music, and the greatest of ease

Play it again, Jerry, I've got a request

I know when you play, it is the best

Tune up the piano, because of the weather

Because what you play, it gives us so much pleasure

With a smile on his face, he plays

The piano keys move, and he swings and sways

The Entertainer, he'll play for you

He even plays the Accordion too

Come on people, let's listen to Jerry

The music he plays, will make you feel merry

His sense of humor, brings a laugh from the crowd

Many will smile, and laugh out loud

That's not the name of the song!

He knows that already, he's never wrong

Thanks for the music Jerry, you struck the right key

A song means a lot, when it is played for me

You brought back some memories, with the song you played

Look at my face, and you can see the smile it has made

You got my soul a dancing, I just had to say

Let's hear another song Jerry, let's hear you play

I first heard Gerry Beauchamp on the Accordion at North Woods

Place. He's played many years on Mackinac Island. He also plays piano

at Lakeview Assisted Living in Gladstone His ear for

music has brought music to the ears of his audience. He plays

music with a musical talent and so much zest. He tunes the piano

so it plays the best, so he can give his best. Thank you my friend

for playing the music we love to hear.

Pronase

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 19, 2003

Came to her, because she needed care for her mate

We became good friends, I'd call that fate

She was a school teacher, in her earlier days

Red haired lady, shining from the sun rays

Grew up in Wisconsin, a Ripon good place

Has a gentle voice, to go with her kind face

Loved to watch the birds, right outside of her window

And share in the things, we both liked to know

I took care of her husband George, for five years in all

After that we kept in touch, I'd visit or give her a call

I still remember, long ago she took a chance on me

And she found out exactly, how good I could be

I rode my bike, to her house on so many days

And learned about life, in so many ways

Cut her grass, and that was so long ago

Seems like just yesterday, in my memories though

Oh Pronase, my dear friend, you're in my heart

Your role in my life, played a special part

I'll always think back, and I'll always smile

Because we shared them together, for quite awhile

Not long after I was let go from the Bishop Noa Home (when it was on Ludington Street, where Herford's and Hops was),

Pronase Goymerac hired me to help to take care of her husband George.

From those years and the years that followed, we became great friends.

Pronase was a retired school teacher.

Rainwater In My Soul

© 1999 by Bud Lemire

Like the drops of rainwater, falling onto my face

There’s a woman I know, in my heart she has a place

She’s wonderful, she’s honest, and she’s very kind

She makes me feel good, when she is on my mind

She touched my life, with smiles from her heart

Even though our lives, are many miles apart

Although I’ve never seen her, this much I know is true

She carries her beauty very well, with sparkling eyes of blue

Her name is Stacy, and we are real good friends

I value all her words, and the messages she sends

Because of this, for her I really care

Enjoying every moment, that we get to share

In the garden of life, is where I want to be

To show her exactly, what she means to me

We both work towards a future, with each the same needs

Holding hands as we go along, planting all the seeds

She’s put her trust in me, to be what I can

I’ll do my best to meet it, but I am only a man

And as a human goes, I am always making mistakes

But I’ll prove my love is true, or whatever it takes

Stacy, please take me, and hold me really tight

Believe the bond we have, and everything will be all right

If you have any doubts, look deep inside your heart

And you’ll find my love, was there right from the start

Dedicated to my wonderful friend Stacy Rainwater.

She’s never left my side, and has remained my friend through

all my pains, and all my sorrows. She is very special to me. Thank you Stacy!

Here was another woman I was very close to. She wasn't filled with lies.

I was glad she crossed my path, and became a friend for a brief while.

Do you know this woman, who's from Ohio

If you do, you can't help but feel her soul

I know when I first met her, I felt it strong

I knew she was special, and I wasn't wrong

She's a special soul, in a special place

Where we meet to chat, about the human race

She's a gentle woman, she's good and kind

And she loves to share, in thoughts of her mind

Her friendly presence, uplifts and soothes

Much faster and better, than any booze

She knows the way, understanding each

With her words, her knowledge will teach

Listen to her spirit, can you feel it there

She's filled with love, by the way she cares

She'll know if you're a good soul too

Embraced within her light, of what is true

No hangovers, just a good feeling in your heart

And I knew it, right from the start

I've known her now, for quite awhile

And her presence always, brings a smile

I was fortunate enough to meet this special

soul while visiting a Spiritual Chat Room.

Because I stayed, I met many other wonderful

people there as well.

Richard, My Friend

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 10, 2003

It was several years ago, that I met you there

At the Family History Library, you had info you could share

You gave me my start, in climbing my Family Tree

And over the years since, you became a good friend to me

A volunteer worker, helping those to find their way

So they will know their family history, better every day

Spending hours without supper, every Tuesday night

Eating candy from the candy jar, so he would feel alright

I recall those times together, not so long ago

Joking with the gang, to see where it would flow

That's Harvey, Cheryl, Richard, and let's not forget me

All on different branches, on separate family trees

But there were many times, with no one else around

We would share our deepest thoughts, and lift us off the ground

And as we shared these feelings, our friendship it would grow

Richard had a special side, that I came to know

Just like a cover, can't be judged for what's inside the book

You must know what's inside, and take the time to look

For I found an Angel, sitting next to me

And I saw the signs, of all things meant to be

He saw beyond the normal, of the spirits that gathered here

He shared with me this knowledge, so everything would be clear

Richard, oh Richard, no one knows where life will end

Only that I'm forever grateful, to have you as my friend

This is for my dear friend Richard Reiffers.

Who has been there to listen, and been there to feel.

He understands, and he's a special person.

Rinkydink

Rinkydink, you got a copy on me?
There in Heaven, where I know you’ll be
It’s me Shocker, calling for you Rinkydink
On the CB Radio is where we made our link

You with the Super Snoop by your side
A picturesque blue van you liked to ride
We know you’re not gone, but always around
The only difference is, your feet is not touching the ground

You have the wings, you’ve earned them well
Because there were times life put you through hell
But you always managed to make it through
I guess that’s what made you you

John, you were a good friend
And although your human life will end
Your soul will go on, your life continues
And for us left behind, that is always good news

Rinkydink, do you have a copy on me?
Get your ears on, your soul is free
We were so lucky to have met such a wonderful soul
Someone like you is always someone good to know
Thank you for sharing your life with us here
Thank you for being someone so dear

For John “Rinkydink”Rickel, may your journey take you where you want to be.

Rita, My True Friend

© 2000 by Bud Lemire

There is a woman I know, she lives in Tennessee

Jackson is the city, she's a special friend to me

We met one early morning, in a Pal Talk room

She entered, and her nickname, was Rapmagicmoon

We added each other to our lists, on Pal Talk and ICQ

Our meetings became marry, as our friendship grew

She cheered me on, with the music that I shared

I came to know a true friend, one who really cared

Then there was a time, walls came up all around her

She kept much to herself, and I was feeling unsure

Then she let her wall down, and she had to say

That she was worried for her Dad, on that certain day

Then one painful day for her, she showed her face to me

With a cam she borrowed, so that I could see

Even though she told me, she didn't look her best

I knew I found a special friend, as my heart beat in my chest

We shared our love for music, we listened and we heard

In private messages, we exchanged thoughts word to word

We'd have fun playing trivia, a knock upon our brain

She kept getting booted, and still she remained sane

Every time we're together, it's a special time indeed

And I know our kind of friendship, is something we both need

With these words, this is where I'11 end

Rita, I thank you very much, for being a special friend

Oh yes, Rita. I remember many wonderful visits with her.

Rubee, My Friend

© by Bud Lemire on July 24, 2003

Rubee so red, bright is her soul

Penny from Heaven, where Angels go

Birth anniversary, celebration is here

Friends from afar, all gather near

A tapestry of words, so she will know it

All in the making, of one special poet

She has the skill, to mix love and light

With imagination, that gives us insight

You can find her work, all over AllPoetry

Take a look, and you'll feel what I see

Th music of life, play her a song

Her poems tell a story, that we dance upon

Oh carry me through, til the very end

The gentleness found, in Rubee, My Friend

I met Rubee at AllPoetry and enjoyed her

poems. She's a housewife, mother and

grandmother, living in the northern tundra of

Sk Canada LOL. She's been writing since she was

young. Her granddaughter has taken an interest in

writing as well, so it's nice to think that she is much

like her Grandmother.

Ruthie, A Kind Soul

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 5, 2015

Ruthie, riding around on your pink motor bike

You're really not my cousin, but you're someone I like

I knew you back when you were on the C.B.

You've always seemed like a kind soul to me

Some years later, you were selling books at The Trading Post

You worked at the place where I would visit the most

We move ahead to the future, we meet in the park

We spend time together, taking pictures in the dark

There by the bridge, you throw your line in

You're fishing, while I take my bike for a spin

Then when the sun sets at the dock, I see you there

We're taking some pictures, in the park everywhere

Descended from the Rodgers, in your ancestral line

You are a cousin, to several siblings of mine

You had a brother Richard, who passed years ago

I remember him, he was someone I use to know

I know you're up in Heaven, looking down from up there

I bet you have a great view, you can see everywhere

Reunited with those who have passed before

A gathering of family, on the Heavenly shore

I'll continue taking pictures, for this I do know

You'll be along with me, Ruthie, with the kind soul

Ruthie, it was always nice to talk with you and share

our love for taking pictures and talk about family.

You shall be missed here on Earth, but I know you're

in a better place and without the pain. Until we meet

again, thanks for your kind presence in my life.

Dedicated to Ruth Rodgers

Sam

I remember you living , in a green house in back on fourteenth street

You had a little boy and girl, it would be then that we would meet

Looking back at the time, he became my best friend

Like all things in life, who would know that time would end

With all things we have in the past, he took resident in my memory

I visit them often, and there's so many of them I do see

He always had his little sister along, when we would play

She was like a friend too, so beautiful in every way

I was saddened to hear, you were going to move away

But it wasn't that far, a yellow house is where you'd stay

You married Franny Marcotte, two more kids were born to you

Time passed by, and in that time, they grew

I remember years later, I was still cutting through your yard to go

To the Miracle Market across the alley, because I had some dough

You helped Franny, run the Metropolitan for a long time

While I started writing poetry, and I learned to rhyme

I remember stopping by to say hello, at your front door window of your home

It seemed all through my life, through the neighborhood, I loved to roam

Now I take pictures, which I post when I can

I always knew you as Thelma, but others call you Sam

Happy Birthday Sam!

Wishing you the very best, every day!

Samplette, The Artist Of Words

© by Bud Lemire on March 6, 2004

Samplette the poet, the artist of words

Letting them flow, as if wings on birds

With her magical touch, she can touch souls

Spirits within, know where every word goes

She's a special soul, sweet Angel of time

Gentle as a butterfly, and so very kind

She reaches out, letting others know she's there

To give her support, to show that she cares

She's a weaver of poems, and one of the best

A winner of trophies, you can't expect less

From Illinois, she's known worldwide

At AllPoetry, by friends at her side

I know I've never told her, but as for me

I feel her words, touching me completely

I'm sure she must also know, we're connected by souls

Through this life and after, as the spirit goes

This is for Sam(Samplette),

one of the best known poets here at AllPoetry.

This is my tribute to her.

Sandy, The Country Angel

© by Bud Lemire on May 1, 2004

This poem is for a friend, who lives in the area of Toronto

Who took the time, to lift me up when I was feeling low

On my trip to Quebec in 2001, I met her and her husband Neil

Their friendly embrace gave me courage, and they bought me a meal

A Beatles mirror, and pictures taken while I was there

A special meeting, that only good friends can share

Sandy, the Country Angel, let the music play

I'm so glad my journey, brought me your way

She met the man in black and his wife, many years ago

An autograph and special memories, to help her love to grow

She grew into a special woman, with such a wonderful heart

Neil will tell you, she's at the very top of her chart

Her friendship seems, to always know when to touch me

Gives me strength and hope, and helps me to see

When my eyes were cloudy, she carried me through

Sandy, I'm so happy, I found a special friend in you

How can I ever thank you enough, for all that you've done

The songs we shared in chat rooms, sure was a lot of fun

What better way, than to write you this poem

As you travel life's road, on your way home

This is for Sandy, married to Neil.

A special friend who's touch in life has helped me time and time again.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul.

Senior Companions

© by Bud Lemire on March 4, 2017

It's not easy growing old, no matter what you do

A Senior Companion is there, to help you through

When you lose some hearing, when you lose some sight

We are there to comfort you, and bring you some light

When your days feel numbered, and you think your life is done

We come into your world, to bring you some good fun

Crazy Eight, Rummy, Bingo, or Dominoes

Cribbage, Dice, Skipbo, because anything goes

We assist you, by bringing you somewhere

As we roll you along, in your wheelchair

We'll visit with you, and we will converse

Bring a smile to your face, for better not for worse

We'll bring you shopping, help you as you go

A friend in us, is what you'll come to know

Maybe a stroll outside, on a summer day

To watch the birds sing, and to watch them play

Whether it be games, which is a lot of fun

Or a conversation, like a One on One

We'll bring a smile, right onto your face

I can't think of it being, in a better place

As a Senior Companion, we are here to make

your life much more enjoyable. We play games,

talk with you, listen to you, and we understand

everything you are going through. We reach out

and we touch you with our presence, and our smiles.

She Carried A Beautiful Smile
© by Bud Lemire on March 30th 2009

I remember as a child so long ago
There was this woman who was always nice to know
She was proud, so very proud of you
And would always be, of everything you’d do

She always loved life, and carried a beautiful smile
When she walked by my house, she’d stop to talk awhile
She always had something to share about her son
Everything, and all the things he’s done

I was always glad you had a kind Mother too
Someone there in life, to always help you through
Sometimes in life, something comes along
That make it so much harder for us to sing our song

Changes us forever, but never for better
And we feel privileged to have met her
But inside, deep within the soul
Captured by life’s tragedy, is that someone that we know

Memories of all, that they brought to us
Love so tender and kind, and of all the trust
A closeness of the heart and soul, that’s so very deep
When they leave this world, it makes us weep

She is free again, on the other side
With wings like a butterfly, and spirits as her guide
She always watches over, her son and her mate
From the inside, of that great Heavenly Gate
For now she surrounds them with her spiritual love
If they are open to it, they’ll feel it from above

In honor of David’s Mom, Mrs. Varino, and Leslie’s wife of many years, who passed away on March 28, 2009. She gave so much, and struggled so much, but in the end…she earned her wings, and flies among the Heavenly creatures like a butterfly.

Sheltered

© by Bud Lemire on March 15, 2004

How many years, have you been sheltered from the storm

Love shared with you, to keep your spirit warm

Well now it is time, spread your wings and fly

You'll never fail anything, as long as you will try

The journey that you'll choose, takes you far from home

But know this as you travel, you'll never be alone

Think of me, and send your thoughts my way

And I will send my light, to make your every day

I know all you are going through

I'm not that different from you

I left the place called home

But I was never alone

The spirits guided me and protected me

They helped me understand and see

I know that when you too, leave the home place

They will help you through, everything you face

In the shelter of the Angel's wings

Overcoming all that life brings

Protected and loved by all, alive and dead

Your spirit has been touched, by all things read

Carry on, and your journey will be strong

Have faith, believe, and sing your life song

This poem is dedicated to two special friends,

Nelak and Kristina (sisters), who have some choices to make.

May their journey be filled with love and guidance.

She's Closer Than You Think

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 27, 2004

She's closer than you think

With you she has a special link

I know her soul has passed

But the memories will always last

I know with a thought, she'll come close

Her spirit embraces, those she loves the most

She's guiding us, her spirit is near

When I was away, she brought me back here

She comes to mind, with everything I see

But I feel her most, climbing my family tree

She gave so much, to those she was around

Sharing and caring, wherever she was found

I didn't know her family well, but I can see

You were a special part, of her family

To each of us, she was a special friend

Treasured memories, we use to spend

We are blessed with special people, so we'll know

When they leave us, it helps us to grow

And one day, we will meet again

To embrace in spirit, with our special friend

This is in honor of my dear friend Patricia Sundstrom,

and dedicated to her son sunnyday

Shirley & Jim

© by Bud Lemire on Dec 28, 2004

Two people come together, and raised a family

Not knowing the future, and how it would be

She had a hard life, before he came along

Still she gave all she could, her love was strong

The children grew up, and they moved away

As time moved along, we come to this day

Failing health, have touched them each

Lessons in life, that each soul must reach

Overwhelming responsibilities, entered her life

To care for her husband, as well as be wife

Making sure everything, was in order and done right

To help him through, should illness hit him at night

He tries his best, to get through his life

Thinks a Gold Medal, should be awarded to his wife

He draws on their love, to help him through

Thinking of a life, he long ago knew

She keeps on going, trying her best

Her love has surely, passed every test

He's waiting, because he knows the end is near

Of a life he is living, and he carries no fear

Both wonderful people, they've been through a lot

At this point in time, it's each other they've got

Sometimes the sun shines, and sometimes it's dim

For the hardships and blessings, for Shirley & Jim

Jim & Shirley Schwalbach. Both have passed away now.

But I use to visit them at one time.

I grew up with their sons Kurt and Kirk

Sisters Of The Soul

© by Bud Lemire on March 30, 2005

Sweet sisters of the soul

Nature's treasures are aglow

Two special people, each in their own way

Feel the magic, in the words that they say

Raised in Ontario, they're a special breed

Sensitive to others, a friend we all need

Kristina and Kalen, sisters of the heart

Two souls joined together, will never be apart

Spirit of the animals, guide these special two

Angels watch from above, in all that they do

Rainbows to a bridge, where crossing is a must

Colors flowing everywhere, of two you can trust

Life lines lead them, to teaching their minds

Of a special kinship, of all ties that bind

Two special women, with so much ahead

Following a path, where each of them are lead

Two sisters joined together, by a common goal

Awakening their senses, understanding their soul

Sisters of the soul, Kristina and Kalen are

The journey of this Earth, is sure to take them far

These are two sisters who are so easy to love.

Happy Birthday Kristina and Kalen!!!!

Two sisters and friends I met at the All Poetry site.

Different nicks are all seen

Stories of experiences appear on screen

Interactions between many within the room

Connecting spirits, in and out of tune

Some come for comfort, to ease some pain

While others come to see what they can gain

Some come to help support those in need

Who seek to know where their life will lead

Whatever the reason that brought you here

The hope are for things to become clear

A difference made, making you complete

To ease your spirit, each day you meet

The spirits know exactly where you're at

Stevie

© May 18, 2024 by Bud Lemire

I first met Stevie, she was a resident at Northwoods Place

She had a wonderful personality, I was happy to see her face

What I always liked about her, she felt like a kindred spirit to me

Someone you could talk to, wherever you would be

When I called the numbers at Bingo, she would always play

You talk loud and plain, and I heard you well” she would always say

She always appreciated, and made me feel good about what I do

As a Senior Companion, she was someone I was so glad that I knew

She'd always come for exercises, with her Marine exercises in the lead

In later years, she listened to books, because she couldn't see well enough to read

We would always share conversation, about what we loved to eat

She loved her fish like I did, a food that can't be beat

She made it to the age of One Hundred And One point five

Another thing about her, she knew what it meant to be alive

Just like her exercises, she never gave up the fight

You see this lady we all love, is going over into the light

The spirits of those she loved, who had passed before

Came to her bedside, to help her through that door

It's time for you to join us, your time here is all through”

You are now a spirit, it's time for you to renew”

tevie was a dear sweet lady, I was honored to have known

from being a Volunteer at Northwoods Place/Lakehouse. She was

one of the kindest ladies, and she always appreciated everything

and everyone. She will be missed by us all.

Sweet Melissa

© 1999 by Bud Lemire

There's a woman, that I know

I met her, not long ago

She has a heart, that's good and kind

And a wonderful personality, that's hard to find

She lives in Missouri and also in my heart

I knew she was special, right from the start

She's open and honest, a woman who's true

Sweet Melissa my friend, this poem is for you

With Chancy nearby, and the birds that go tweet

Your world is much better, when it feels complete

Studying real hard, for each exam that comes by

Making the effort, and always willing to try

On ICQ Chat, is where we first met

The feelings she sent, I will never forget

She touched my soul, she touched me deep

I knew in my heart, her friendship I'd keep

Then we met at YAHOO, we didn't make it a date

Our time would go fast, and it would get late

It was off to work, where did the time go

I looked forward to the next time, that she said hello

Our friendship continued to grow, to this day

And I know she is special, in every way

I believe our friendship, will last until the end

Because Sweet Melissa, you're a wonderful friend

Dedicated to my special friend Melissa, who is

special to me. In the short time I've known her

we have become close. Thank you Mel!

The Beating Of Two Hearts

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 11, 2018

It's a wonderful day, when two people come together

At a Wedding ceremony, despite dark day weather

Father Darryl, waited in front with the Groom

The Bride came up the aisle, from the back of the room

Prayers and songs and blessings, all were heard this day

As the beating of two hearts, were heard in a joyous way

Two hearts that had been separated, reunite once more

Becoming even stronger as one, than they were before

High School sweethearts, each on a journey of their own

Found their way back together, to a love they both had known

Family and friends gathered, to celebrate

A love like this, should never have to wait

Many photos were taken, to remember this special day

Special memories captured, will never fade away

Down a country road, the Wedding couple walk

Holding hands as they go, sharing in a talk

Times will always change, but their love will never die

The past becomes a memory, in which they say goodbye

The future holds a lot, so much for them each

So much in life to learn from, so much that they can teach

My day ended seeing them, as they embraced in a dance

As I walked out of the tent, I took one last glance

How wonderful love can be, when sharing it together

Precious is the moment, that you can always treasure

This poem goes out to Bill & Janet Draze, the happy couple.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. It was

wonderful to see two people who love each other so very much

come together. I want to wish you both a life of happiness, and

may all good things come to you.

The Cheese Lady

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 7, 2006

There's a Cheese Lady, who knows what cheese I like to eat

Her smile is so pleasant, when our eyes meet

She works in the deli, of Elmer's grocery store

Sometimes I'll request cheese, sometimes more

She knows the cheeses, the ones that won't stick

No in between papers needed, in the slices from the brick

American-Swiss is the cheese I always choose

As we briefly pause to talk about the latest news

She enjoys reading all my poetry

But one of them touched her deeply

It helped her through a loss in her family

Words of comfort, all written by me

One day across the counter, she could see

Someone was slicing the wrong cheese for me

I'm glad she caught the error before I had to go

She's the Cheese Lady, so she ought to know

At Elmer's Deli, she knew exactly what kind of cheese

I liked. She doesn't work there anymore, but I do

see her around from time to time.

The Cheese I liked, Elmer's no longer gets.

Good thing I like many other kinds.

The Conversation With A Friend

© 1994 by Bud Lemire

There was a special friend, I encountered quite a lot

Upon our first meeting, our early visits she forgot

I didn't know that, and sent her a poem and a letter

Along with a Christmas Card, in hopes of knowing her better

Christmas Eve she hand delivered a card, saying we should get together

Timed passing by, along with the freezing cold weather

I stopped to see her, but she wasn't at the Antique Mall

Several days later, from Elmer's she gave me a call

Our first meeting was planned, we could get together at last

I'll never forget that Sunday night, as she told me about her past

I was “gaggy” nervous, as I usually am at first

I brought her a Dr. Pepper, to help satisfy her thirst

I was happy to find, she liked Star Trek like I do

Beam Me Up Scotty, or rather make that two”

She likes Unicorns, Dark Shadows, Country Music with a little Rock

And a special friendship with three cats, that is really hard to knock

As she told me about her life, with pictures of journeys she's made

I found that the time together, was rapidly starting to fade

Although I hardly know her, I enjoyed her words and her smile

My nervousness gone and forgotten, the visit was highly worthwhile

I wanted to turn back the clocks, and start all over again

Because I was really enjoying, The Conversation With A Friend

This was The Stranger On The Bike that I first met in 1993 at Elmer's County Market,

named Rita. We lost touch with each other after this meeting. Somehow, this meeting gave

me the feeling that she has a memory problem. Maybe the next meeting she would forget me

again. I see her often at Elmer's, but there's no recognition in her eyes. I realized now, that

my gift to help people, was even working at this early time. Her ex-husband was abusive to

her. Her Mom didn't like her at all. I hope that I was able to give her some comfort in our

time together. Rita, may your future hold many good things for you.

The Crazy Lady From Boulder

© by Bud Lemire on April 28, 2005

She's the crazy lady from Boulder

I can imagine how it'd be to hold her

For I've touched her soul

So I already know

Her spirit is here to teach

And she's as sweet as a peach

She sends her love to me everyday

And it touches me in a special way

This crazy lady does amazing things

She flies much higher than the Angel's wings

She calms the souls of those in need

And she descends from a rare soul breed

She's taken me in arms so tight

And together we rotate within the light

Our bond was deeper that we'd ever know

Since that day that I had saved her soul

She's never been away

Since that special day

Twenty four hours she's here

We calm each others fear

We have a special kind of love

That's only felt from far above

This crazy lady from Boulder

Touches my soul when I hold her

Someone I met online, and we had a little

romance from afar and online and on the phone.

It didn't last.

The Flag Lady

© by Bud Lemire on Apr 25, 2006

She gets up early to raise the flag

The wind takes a hold, as it starts to wag

From the kitchen window, she watches it fly

Proud of her heritage, always willing to try

She's up early each morning, because a beckoning came

To be at his side, was her only aim

Seeing to his needs, for the day ahead

Words from his mouth, not too plainly said

It's a good day to go for a ride in your chair

It would be so good, for you to get some fresh air

And we could just go, anywhere

Admiring nature and being aware

So many things she wishes she could do

"But my dear man, I sure do love you"

"Look at his smile, isn't it lovely?"

As they admire the flowers, with all of it's beauty

At the end of the day, she's tired out

Seeing to his needs, was never a doubt

Taking some time to relax and enjoy an hour

Watching TV, reading, or watering her flowers

Before she's done for the day, exhaustion will hit

He's asleep now, it's peaceful and quiet

Her eyes close, and she's drifted away

Only to raise the flag, beginning another day

This one is for Mina and Ernie Bernard, two dear friends

I have known in this lifetime

The Journey's End

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 4, 2012

The journey in time

Of the soul and the mind

Isn't the easiest of all

We stand, and we fall

But you my friend, have grown

Of all the people I've known

While sitting there in your power chair

People have told me they see you everywhere

I know the accident that put you there

Made you the man who knew how to care

You gave so much from your heart

To me, your giving was only the start

Many times I was ready to quit

You always talked me out of it

I'm glad that you did, to this very day

I returned to your side, after going away

You've been through more than anyone should

I know if I had to, I don't think I could

How does it feel to lose someone?” you asked long ago

At this time in your life, you already know

The choices in life is ours to make

The path that we go down is ours to take

The Angels are singing and welcoming you home

To be embraced by family and friends you have known

As your life takes you to the Journey's End

I thank God that you let me be your friend

Bob, your journey here on Earth is coming to an end,

but your spirit goes on in the Heavenly World.

Your Mom, Dad, Grandma, Mickey, Bert, and many others

you know are waiting to welcome you home.

You'll be able to walk again, and even dance if you want.

Most of all, the pain you had here, you won't have there.

You'll have the best of Heavenly Love.

Take care my friend, and I'll see you when I come home.

For my Friend Bob Miller April 17, 1964 - January 5, 2012

The Mina Bird

© by Bud Lemire on July 19, 2006

Have you heard the word

Of a creature, The Mina Bird

She flies around all day

In one place she hardly stays

She’ll share her food with you

Won’t stop until you eat some too

Her beak is always moving in a pleasant conversation

With the people within her home congregation

This little bird, has a heart of gold

It flutters in warmth, never growing cold

She appreciates so much, but has so little time

To do all the things, that cross her mind

Welcoming all who should enter her nest

Thankful for such an encounter, so she can rest

It’s so great that God made her of all good things

So she can still fly with such good wings

For she is strong of soul, with love of heart

And gives so much, she’s a work of art

For you see, her mate can no longer fly

And by his side is where she’ll lie

She doesn’t lay any eggs, like one bird we know

But she has one of the most wonderful souls

This is for my friend Mina Bernard,

who has since passed. She loved birds

and all other creatures.

The Moonbeam Celebration

©2004 by Bud Lemire

It’s a celebration, of the Moonbeam

Shining down on the earth, causing us to dream

Drifting away, with the glow of the night

Captured within, from the flow of moonlight

Oh Moonbeam, your voice is still heard

Ringing in my ears, I remember every word

The songs that you played, when I listened to you

The friendship we shared, as we both grew

The CB radio, with your voice saying 10-4

Keying your mic, like so many times before

And the Chinese fire drills, on Ludington street

Kept us all moving, kept us on our feet

With Native origins, your spiritual roots are quite strong

Closer to nature, I place these words in your song

Denise, my dear friend, I write this poem for you

For being my friend, and for helping me through

Happy Birthday Denise, with cake and ice cream

As we celebrate this day, in honor of the Moonbeam

For my dear friend Denise Sayklly

Who has since passed away.

On the CB radio she was known as Moonbeam

The Mystical Fish

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 3, 2005

All good things I wish

For a dear Mystical Fish

Her fishy humor makes me smile

And I like her down to earth style

Swim little fishy, in the light

And in darkness, use your second sight

Listen to the tunes we both love to hear

And let them comfort and diminish your fear

When you're in a room, your scales shine

It's easy to see, you're part of the divine

You're honest, true, and sincere

You're someone I hold dear

Oh Fishy, you got me on a hook

Reading your words, is such a good book

Laughter has you shaking your tail

By cod, your love is bigger than a whale

Bubbles might float to the top

But our friendship will never drop

For our souls are connected by a love so deep

It'll be everlasting, as one we both will keep

I've met many wonderful friends while visiting the

Spiritual Chat rooms on the internet. They've

come to be really great friends.

This one is for Pat Fish, who I met at

MediuMystic Chat

The Poet And The Dutch

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

This is the story, of The Poet and The Dutch

Leaning on each other, letting their love be the crutch

Two people in distance, were very far apart

But connected by the spirit, and the beatings of the heart

With her wonderful voice, The Poet sings the blues

And shares her love in poetry, and that is always good news

With words from his heart and soul, dutchy reads out loud

A poem that is so spiritual, my friend I am so proud

Two wandering souls, who have found each other

In the spiritual sense, they're my sister and my brother

Touching souls, I enter their room each night

And always am embraced, by their radiant light

They each have stories, of sadness and of pain

For each have walked a rocky road, and still remain sane

They share their messages in poetry, to help others find their way

In hopes that it will help them, make a better day

They help all who enter their room, they're like family too

And we all listen to their stories, and the pain that they've gone through

For one can not move forward, without the pain we've had

And we can not enjoy the good, without some of the bad

They use their spiritual lights, to calm each other as well

For one can not reach Heaven, without first going through some hell

Two friends I met in a poetry room on Pal Talk

Robin and Karel, I wish you all the best, my friends

may the light of love keep shining, until your journey's end

Note: The story continues. Dutchy came to USA and spent time with the Poet, but then went

back to the Netherlands.

he had planned on coming back, but other issues came up. Last I heard he was diagnosed

with cancer. Whether this

is true or not I do not know. Only at this time, that is what I know. He was planning

another trip here. Only time will

tell if he arrives and is true, or if other issues come up. (Feb 2003)

Last I heard, The Poet(Robin) was alone, and Dutchy (Karel) was in the Netherlands.

Sometimes, love is just for a brief amount of time.

The Shoefitter

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 23, 2005

Her shoes fit her very well

She didn't need anything to sell

Her spirit filled each shoe with love

Songs of the Angels from above

She'd sing to her children, every night

And it would fill them each, with her light

With green eyes sparkling, they would shine

She carried on the work of the divine

She knew the shoe would fit

Because her spiritual love felt it

The tongue spoke of the spiritual place

Where many shoes walked, tied with a lace

Where the Rainbow gave people hope

Making it easier for them to cope

She gave all she could

Sometimes more than she should

For her, it was never enough

So many suffered, a life so rough

She had to help them heal

From the pain she could feel

It was her way to give

Made life worthwhile to live

The Shoefitter wore her shoes all around

And gave herself completely, wherever she was found

For she had a wonderful sole

And one I am glad to know

The Soul's Flame

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 2, 2005

Her fire burns very bright

Of energies from within the light

She guides those who have lost their way

She warms my soul, every day

Her roots stay within this land

Yet her love touches everyone's hand

Her truth will ring true to you

She'll do anything to help you through

Under the guidance of her Mother

She learned the value of helping one another

Not everyone felt the same

Some tried to put out her flame

But her fire burned on very strong

For she understood right from wrong

The lessons learned, burned inside

In her life, she's always tried

She does her best, to help others to see

From the teachings of her ancestry

Out of the spiritual fire she came

Wrapped within, she's the Soul's Flame

The Spiritual Beads Of Love

© 2000 by Bud Lemire

From the Irish place of Galway, one soul has found her mate

Far across the waters, in the South Carolina state

Their spirits joined together, as they become one

And everyday this happened, was another day of sun

The meeting they had planned, was to happen before too long

But something happened, turning it into a sad song

The soul in South Carolina, became ill one night

While over in Ireland, the other soul held on tight

The sadness in her soul, the tears were flowing free

"I do not feel the same, when Richard is not here with me"

She wished that she could be there, to help him through it all

She was soon to find out, the answers to her call

Little did Triona know, what would happen on that day

When she entered and sat by the doors, in that out of town cafe

She was comforted by a lady, whom she never met

And the gift that she received, she never would forget

They were beads, that glowed so brightly in the dark

Touching upon her inner soul, they had found their mark

Looking back at it all, it was so strange she knew

For she received another set of beads, from the love that was so true

These souls may be separated by distance, but they aren't separated by love

For their love for each is stronger, they're being guided from above

Their strength and their courage, will carry on for years

Their love will conquer obstacles, through the many tears

A gift from a stranger, can change our lives forever more

When we decide to set foot inside an unknown door

We must not be afraid to step forward, or take a journey there

We never know what we'll find, or what we're going to share

We must follow our hearts, and watch for every sign

Give all of our inner spirit, and keep a healthy mind

For in our journey of life, there is so much we can see

As our future brings us closer, to everything that will be

Triona (Richard) was another one I met in a spiritual room at

Pal Talk. I was touched by her story, and had to put

it in a poem.

This Poem

© by Bud Lemire on Sept 16, 2005

You may think this poem is about you

And who knows, it might be true

Or it might be about someone else I know

And I share it with others, so they'll grow

You'd know if it was about you I wrote

Your heart would be warmed, with dryness in your throat

Good energy all over you, and throughout your soul

And you wouldn't have to ask, you'd already know

Close your eyes, and tell me is this poem about you

Can you feel the answers , as they're coming through

Flow with the energy, and become as one

Let the feeling warm you, as if it was the sun

It's what I put into each and every poem

To guide you on your journey, on your way home

You know I'm sincere, in everything I write

Because you feel it, coming from my spiritual light

This poem was written, so you'd be aware

I write these poems for reading, because I really care

So here it is, a poem, especially from me

If you think it's about you, who knows, it could be

Together As One

© by Bud Lemire on March 17, 2004

Although we may be miles apart

We come together to share a heart

We share a soul and share some time

For I am yours and you are mine

Age means nothing, different are we

Together as one, as souls flow free

Nor does it matter, what your size

The color of your hair, or of your eyes

For beauty here, is seen within

With this connection, you'll always win

Love for each, flows free and strong

This kind of link, can not be wrong

Once connected, forever it will be

Wherever life takes you, whatever you will see

Although in distance, we're miles apart

We are one together, in soul and heart

Dedicated to all my soul friends

Trials Of Life

© 1999 by Bud Lemire

I know you're only feeling sorrow

But there's a new day tomorrow

Don't dwell on the past, you've left it far behind

Banish it to the farthest corners of your mind

Release all the tension, release all the pain

Look deep in your heart, only Love will remain

You've moved ahead, and above all they are

They're anchored in place, but you have the scar

Don't open the wound again and again

Stop the blood flowing let the soul mend

Meditate and let all the good spirits inside

That part of your past, is gone, it has died

Don't let them win, and take your happiness away

The Love they gave you, they would only betray

They should Love and accept you, for all you've become

You've matured beautifully, and then some

A lesson in love, a lesson in life, you've learned it all

You learned from your mistakes, and still didn't fall

You made every effort, you gave it your best

Your soul was imbalanced, but you passed the test

Life is a trial, only Love can win

Where will it end, where did it begin

You've done the right thing you have nothing to fear

Let the Heavenly Light guide you, let it come near

With a baby on the way, you must be strong

And teach your child to sing the right song

You're a wonderful woman, I want you to know

With my added Love. I want you to continue to grow

When your spirit is low, let my Love be enough

Gently guiding you above, I won't be rough

When your spirit is high let me enjoy your sweet smile

For the Love that we share, will last a long while

This one was about Dawn “Shyling.” She had just

had a baby (Micah), and was having a hard time.

I was a friend who helped her through this.

Two Special People

© by Bud Lemire on March 11, 2005

There are two people who have joined together

Taking value, in each others company to treasure

Through the years, of health and of age

They've been there for each other, through every stage

She sleeps on the couch, and gets up when she hears

His cry of pain, and she calms his fears

She's always at his beckoned call

And holds him up, so he won't fall

Her dedication, has kept her very strong

As she listens to a cockatiel's song

Persistence is used, it is her key

To overcome problems, that she can't see

He lives in pain, often you can hear him cry

If he had his choice, he would choose to die

But his time isn't here, so he must stay

While she tries to comfort him, every day

Their love for each other, keeps them going along

Of these two souls, sharing a union that is strong

She makes sure, that he's always fed

While the Angels, dance over his bed

This love they have, I find today is rare

The love given to each other, they truly care

These two special people, have been blessed

To share in this love, that is the very best

For Ernie and Mina Bernard, two special people I have known

Walter

© by Bud Lemire on Jan 23, 2024

He always smiled, in a certain kind of way

As if he was searching, for something to say

Words could not come out, the way he wanted them to

Yet this wonderful man, did the best that he could do

I recall upon arrival one day, I asked him what was wrong

He thought awhile, and then the words came along

He looked at me, and said “I can not think”

I explained to him, not all was in sync

Even though, he could not think like before

He was a man, anyone could easily adore

I came to love, this very special man

Somehow I understood, as only I can

He was smart, this I did know

Just needed time, then it would show

He knew words, and numbers too

Yet his mind had trouble, getting things through

When this happens, to someone you know

You have to care enough, for your love to show

With anyone you know, you will find

They just need a certain key, to unlock their mind

That key, he found, when he passed away

He can think much better, he's going to be more than okay

When anyone has dementia, they're not the same as before. Yet,

many times, a spark of their personality will shine through.

Even with dementia, Walter was a wonderful man that I was

honored to know and share time with. Thank you Walter!

As a Senior Companion, you meet many wonderful people.

This was one of the many that I meet as a volunteer.

Warmwinds

© 2002 by Bud Lemire

The Warmwinds came, and left a soft and getle breeze

And held me in the company, of a heartfelt and spiritual squeeze

Her ways were so special, and she listened with her heart

And I knew that she was wonderful, right from the start

We went into conversation, of our pasts that we did share

And we talked about the future, and how we really care

It was a friend to friend chat, that were joining in

And I know each of us felt better, as we wore a grin

The Warmwinds came to me, and blew a kiss upon my face

And then she sat across from me, as we talked about the human race

Gentle was her presence, her personality was kind

And it gave me pleasure, and a peace of mind

Our friendship united, as we both couldn't sleep

It was each others company, that we each would keep

As the words appeared, on each others screen

Traveling across many miles, that are in between

It is very nice, to have her as a friend

With these final words, it is hugs that I will send

I use to spend time in the chat rooms. One was

called Pal Talk. In the Spiritual chat rooms, I

found many friends. One was called Warmwinds.

I loved her company for her words were wise and

from the heart. Not only in chat, but I recall e-mail

we would send to each other. She was a special friend.

West Virginian Angel

© by Bud Lemire on April 2, 2005

Just a few years ago, I entered a chatroom

Hosted by a West Virginian woman, playing happy tunes

She had her regulars, always coming there

In this special place, where friends gathered to share

She'd be in the spotlight, singing a favorite song

Everyone caught up in it, they would sing along

She made everyone feel special, who came to her place

Visions of a happy woman, with smiles upon her face

But life for her wasn't easy, sometimes it got hard

She'd always try her best, to hold the winning card

Everyone has a story, for her it is the same

For this West Virginian Angel, and Nancy is her name

We all know her as Nan, and her halo shines so bright

You can feel her spirit, and be taken in by her light

Native American roots, her spirit proud and strong

You can feel captivated, and want to sing along

Nan, you've always been a friend, all through these years

Through the happy times, and through all the tears

Your voice is so soothing, to the human soul

And you're a very special friend, that I've come to know

Nan27of PalTalk Chat, had her own room, where people would

come and sing songs. I met many friends there. Among them

was this wonderful woman from West Virginia

Whether It Be (poem for Rubee)

© by Bud Lemire on Nov 6, 2004

Whether it be shoes she's tapping

Or words into a poem she's rapping

She's doing what she loves to do

Sharing her life's journey with me and you

Whether it be from her imagination

Or expressions from life's frustrations

She knows how to blend words together

She makes reading her poems a pleasure

Whether it be about me or about you

I always give her poems a good review

And look forward to each one that she writes

It's like gazing up at so many star lights

It's a wonder to behold

Such a wonderful heart of gold

I'm tapping my fingers, because it's easy to see

Why we all come, to read her poetry

To Rubee! So good to see you writing and sharing again.

Great to see you are out enjoying life and doing what you love doing.

Keep on tapping my friend. ~Bud~

Rubee's response: OHHH MY GOSH!!!! What an honor...I am truly humbled...

thank you so very much Bud. What a wonderful and unexpected surprise..you truly made my day You are such a great guy!!!!

With All

© by Bud Lemire on Feb 17, 2003

With all of your heart

Shall you play your part

With all of your soul

Shall you know your goal

With your life here on earth

And all that you're worth

With all that you know

You let your love flow

With all that you value

And all that comes through

With all that you give

In this life that you live

With the spirit that guides

And all that abides

You carry your weight

To enjoy and appreciate

With all that you are

This journey's taken you far

With all things that end

Forever, I call you a friend

Your Friend

© by Bud Lemire on Oct 6, 2020

Whether I am a Republican or Democrat, try to comprehend

Politics shouldn't play any role, I should always be your friend

Not everyone, will think the same as you

You may think you're right, but you are just untrue

If you don't believe as I do, please leave my page”

Those words shouldn't come, you need to act your age

A wise person knows wisdom, but also knows his heart

And won't let stupidity, tear a friendship apart

Words that are released, can never be taken back

So use extreme caution, with the way you act

Everyone has a choice, on everything they choose

Rudeness is a category, that only brings bad news

I have many friends, not every one thinks exactly as I do

Freedom of choosing what they want, makes friendship stick like glue

Being different, is what makes each of us unique

From the clothes we wear, to the way we speak

I can be true, and still be a friend

Accept my choices, so our friendship won't end

Let our friendship, stand straight and never bend

Life is too short, so let me always be Your Friend

With the politics and people getting too far out

of hand, and with hearing about someone who

actually told someone else to stay away from them

if they voted for someone other than who they

voted for. It doesn't get any more stupid than that.

When you've had a friend for years, and find out

they voted for the opposite party than you did.

It's their choice, and they should remain a friend.

Freedom of choice. Nothing like that should

ever come between good friends.

Your Message

© by Bud Lemire on June 3, 2005

I received your message, and it brought me a smile

Singing a song that I knew, made it all worthwhile

I've been keeping busy, but glad you dropped me a line

To let me know, you're a special friend of mine

Your message is a special one, received right from the start

For it's one that touches, very deep into my heart

It shows you care enough, to give me a call

And brings the light shining, upon my apartment wall

So special is your message, sweet friend of mine

It leaves with me a feeling, up and down my spine

My answering machine answers, because it doesn't ring

I must say I'm glad, so I can hear you sing

What song will you sing next, one that I desire

That comes across to me, through the telephone wire

Any song will do, there's so many we each know

Songs keep going through my mind, no matter where I go

Leave me a message, one that's in a song

I'll surely love it, so you can't go wrong

Your message comes, and it makes my day

When my life is busy, and I am away

Your Mind, Your Heart

© 2001 by Bud Lemire

If I could see, inside your mind

Tell me, what is it I would find

Is there something you have to hide

Or for me to see, is it opened wide

Some thoughts, must be kept to yourself

Like a favorite book, left on the shelf

For sometimes, the pages can be torn apart

When your mind, teams up with your heart

Sometimes your deepest thoughts, all are shown to me

And I understand how you think, and the way you see

I travel much deeper, into where you think

Our thoughts become one, when our minds link

Our hearts beat, so blood can flow everywhere

Within our minds, our deepest thoughts we share

Your mind is like an antenna, with so much coming through

Your heart controls your feelings, with everything you do

Your mind recognizes, all the messages that arrive

Your heart recognizes, feelings that make you feel alive

Together your mind and your heart, make you feel whole

And should be taken care of, for you to play your role

I was thinking about Kristina Wadel (BC, Canada) and her heart issues.

But also this message is for everyone.

Your Profile Picture

© by Bud Lemire on April 1, 2021

Your profile picture is nice to see

A smiling face looking back at me

Whether it be your family, or a picture of you

Or something you like, or something you like to do

Maybe you picked a favorite, that you want to be on display

I enjoy looking at them, I just thought that I should say

This profile picture on display to see

Shows quite a bit of your personality

I like to see how everyone looks

It's like seeing covers of books

Sometimes I try to turn the page

Or I try to guess your age

I look into your eyes and it's beauty I see

And a good soul gazing back at me

A friend who is traveling through time

Living a life, that intersects with mine

You chose that picture to show us all

It's displayed at the very top of your wall

I must say, it's a great picture to see

All my friends, looking back at me

I love seeing what pictures you chose as

your profile picture. I know it means a lot

to you to have it there. I like to see your face,

smiling, and having a good time. Or something

that you enjoy, or something you are interested

in. A family member that you cherish, in honor

of, or in memory of. A cause you believe in.

Whatever it is, it is what means the most to you.

For my friends on Facebook

Your Song

© by Bud Lemire on July 9, 2005

When it comes your time to go

There are many things I wanted you to know

Many are the presents that we received

But none as precious as a friend who believed

You stood by me whether I was right or wrong

Your presence added strength and helped me along

You knew things that nobody else knew

Your words of comfort always helped me through

I know that life must end some time

And each of us must cross that line

I wanted you to know while you're still here

So understanding could be humanly clear

For once you cross over your spirit will soar

And will be again what it was before

No limitations will hold you down

Your wings will take you far off the ground

I know that God sent an Angel my way

For I wrote about you in this poem today

I'll miss your physical presence, your spirit was strong

And I'll always remember you, when I hear your song

This could have almost been written about anyone.

I've had so many friends who have passed.
